Long story short is I got my rev 600 motor in a full tube chassis. I dont have anything but a few custom accesories wired up and i DONT want the factory gauge as its giant and clumsy.

SOOO will a rev run properly without the tach on it? I will be using a KOSO egt/water/rpm gauge... smaller, cleaner, more useful.

thinking about it a little more. trace the wire. i bet it just goes from the mag to the gauge. on its own closed loop. if there is a yellow going into the gauge as well im sure its just for the backlight.
i woud go ahead an eliminate it
i have an older doo 98 with mepm and have done this with no issues

good deal, anything MPEM based should be similar, its just 1 wire to the tach and ground. hope thats right!!

just bought a digital service manual for $7... time to find out what it truely is!

i had a heck of a time with my tach not working on my old rev,(actually still have joshes 06 rev tach and need to get that back to him) and i think at one point i even just unhooked it and everything ran fine.

Follow the koso instructions on programing it, but you'll ground the ground wire and the other will get hooked up to the coil. You can hook it up to either one of the two wires.
