Ruger 204?

i'm looking at one also. the thing i'm worried about is if it has enough steam to drop coyotes out to 500 yards. most are shot around 150-200 on a dead run.

I have a Cooper in the 204 and it averages around 0.35 to 0.40 inch groups at 100 yds. I shoot 39 BKs behind 25 gr of Benchmark, which gives a velocity of about 3700 fps. This velocity is relatively tame, but with the higher BC of this bullet, it actually shoots flatter than the 32 gr out past 200yds and also flatter than both the 22-250 and the 220 swift.

I have a 4.5x14 Leopould VX-L on it and you can almost always see you hits in the scope. It works well on anyting from coyotes down, however, I would not want to use it for anything larger.

The only downside of the Cooper (outside of the politics) is that it is a single shot, which is not too bad once you get used to it.

I have a buddy that has one in a CZ. Nice little gun but after about 8-10 rounds it fouls the barrel and starts shooting all over the place. Reminded me of the little .17 rem. I used to have along time ago. Kinda a fun little gun to shoot but it couldn't go more than 8-10 rounds without cleaning the barrel. They shoot alot of powder for such a small bore which i'm sure leads to fouling the barrels easier.

my bro has one has has taken numerous yotes with it and it does a number on gophers! shoots really good too!

That would suck. I can usually get 50 to 60 rounds out of mine before they start going wild. Howver, my gun likes to shoot the heavier bullets and does not like the heavy loads or the maximum velocities as well.

my buddy has the ruger .204 ive only seen him shoot it a time or two but it looks like a pretty sweet little gun. dam near blew a jack rabbit in half one day last winter.
