rt 1000 issues....i could use some help!

have put the 08 /800 t stat in the 1000rt .

need a t fitting as well . that can be had from the 01/800 coolong system..

OK, call me stupid. Is the 08/800 thermostat listed on the doo's parts list as:

13 LOGEMENT THERM *THERM.HOUSING
509000499 1 $20.99

Does this include a thermostat and inline housing?

Does anyone have a picture of their RT with this installation?

ya it is a complete unit and it is cheap . you end up plugging one of the small half inch outlets . the rest is a matter of cutting the hose that goes from the head down the rewin side . thermostate housing assy goes inline , so you end up cutting a section out and putting the t stat assy in there . also needed is a inline t . this t is used in the 01 /800s at the bottom of there cooling tank assy . when looking for it for a part number .
i will take a picture and see if i can figure out how to post it for ya . pic is worth a thousand words .

Bombi probably doesn't realize what they priced this thermastat housing unit at.......

1 RES.ANTIGEL *TANK-COOLANT
509000134 (replaces 509000114) 1 $53.49

Seems a bit spendy for a tank with the T though. I think trying to obtain a hardware store plumbing T may be a better avenue.

I can picture cutting a chunk outta the appropriate hose for the Therm housing. But I can't picture in my head what the plumbing T is for.....

Sure would appreciate a photo.

No pics yet, but here's what I'm going to try,,, copy from an earlier post,,,

Looking at the T-stat for the 08 800R Summit on BRP online parts cataolg,,, it looks like part number 509000499 should work. Looks like the "hot" from the engine goes to the large nipple on the top of the housing (thermostat in).
With the large nipple on right side going to the exchanger for cooling when the stat is open (thermostat outlet),,, There also is the other two smaller nipples, with the left one looking like a bypass to allow coolant to circulate in the motor only (when the stat is closed), and there's another nipple that goes to the tank to keep the lines full of fluid (filler hose),,, Anyway, if I understand the 08 diagram I will likey need to buy the "T" (part 509000372) to get the bypass coolant back to the engine when the thermostat is closed,,, as well as some small connectors to hook up the filler hose (or I may plug this as I alread have a filler hose setup the should as-is),,, does this sound correct, or are some of you not doing the bypass hose as there may be a small hole in the thermostat for bypass, or one could add a small hole with a drill,,, Anyway, if anybody has done this I would be curious as to how many lines you had to run,,, Right now I think I will use the "T" and run the bypass back to the motor directly (put it in the line going back to engine), but the "filler" nipple seems like it may not be needed (I'll cap it) as the RT's hose runs right under the tank to clear its bubbles (or "get its fill") ,,, Thanks,

Just a little FYI for the RT guys, Al mentioned to me before I pulled my motor in the spring, that the under motor or lower rad hose would likely have a small hole or almost open hole rubbed thru the hose as it rubs against the engine block on one spot. Sure enough my hose was almost worn thru, so might be a good idea at least to check yours and add some extra rubber or something around the rub spot. I bought a new hose and cut a piece of rubber from my old hose and strapped it on.

Still gonna doo the thermostat thing just in the middle of moving so a bit busy right now!!!
