Mod's Ski's

so the MOD skis you bought over the phone were great? the dealer i am getting my work done at has never even heard about these skis.... i hope they are in the mail......

Not unusual sledjunky--These ski's were made in BC and were bought out about 1 year aago and brought to the USA for manufacturering and sales.
It was just a few US sledders that were lucky enough to be introduced to the Mod's while in BC. You will like them.
I have started building runners for mine(standard-no carbides)out of stainless rod and it works great and very price effective--I can build 6 runners for the price of 1 set--so 3 for 1.
I think the runners out of stainless hve over 1 season on them now and look like they should last 2 more--I ws burning down a set a year of the mild steel on the front of the 1000.

Just switched to Ski-Doo from Polaris.
Which bushing are you talking about here? At the ski or on the A-arms?

The bushing that goes through the ski and spindle (ski bolt) is magnesium so the spindle bushings chew big grooves into the bushing. Mine is an X not sure if all RT's use this light bushing

Grab your ski hoops and wiggle. mine were wasted after 800-900 miles Replaced with Polaris steel bushings. They only weigh a couple ounces more.

Ditto what shredder said but add one thing trade the skkis from left to right, I think they side hill and are a lot better with carbides on inside, also try just a single carbide, seems to work good too

Powder Pros have a big plus and minus.

The plus - The deep keel makes turning effortless in fresh snow.

The minus - The deep keel will set into crusty snow and defeat steering. If going over 20MPH, weight transfer will rapidly go from left to right and back until the sled flips over. Had it happen three times to me and twice to my buddy. Will never buy them again.

Regardless, the bushings have to be replaced frequently. They will really add to darting conditions after they wear.

Not trying to hijack, I have the Powder Pro's and like them alot. But like said, they are weird in crusty snow. I do remember hearing of a fix for this. I can not remember where I read it, or when. It seems about 3 weeks or so ago I read it. Something about cutting down a rib on the rear of the ski? Anyone heard of this? If that one issue could be fixed, and it had no other ill affects to the handling, they would be a very good ski. I have not ridden any other ski's on a rev, other than the stock pilots. They were not for me.

I am sure you will like the mods, I debated over them vs powder pro's for awhile. Reason I went with PP's is to get replacement parts, I can go to any reputable dealer. Maybe mods are easier to get now. Keep us updated.

I have an 06 162 and I have no problems with the 06 skis. The boys are right on the 05 skis though.......they suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!!

I agree! I have no complaints about my 06 RT skis. Factory skis these days are not that bad. But what the heck I know I have only been riding for 19 years.
