RPM loss after swap from MBRP to SLP can

Just like the title states, I was running the blown out MBRP after all my gearing clutching changes this year and she was running right at 7650 and crisp right from idle up. I (and my friends) got sick of the noise, so I put an SLP can on it, now it runs at about 7400 and "feels" a little less crisp down low.
This is all local riding at the same elevation (4 - 5k') in very similar temps.

So my first question is, has anyone else seen these results? I would guess this is an indication of the difference in back pressure between the 2 cans, and going by the theory that more back pressure is beneficial at higher elevation?, I should probably just clutch according to the SLP can and go with it seeing as though I do spend a fair bit of time riding 6 - 8k' when we load up and go riding in BC. I picked up some 10-68's which should get me back up to 7600.
Opinions?

Dan,

i saw the samething going from the slp can to the cpi can i have now. that is why i switched.

i now have less heat. a little more power and the sled just feels more crisp. it feels even more crisp now that it is a 975 and running good :D:D;)

^^DITTO..

i had the SLP can and now have a CPI can..WAY better..dump the SLP, get a CPI stinger can or use your MBRP again...worth the complaining from your buddies...thats why you need to stay ahead of them...so they hear it more and suck your roost tail

Ok, good to hear its not just me... the 9 obviously likes the lower back pressure of a stinger style can. I guess the boys will have to start wearing ear plugs lol. Thanks for the replies guys!

Dropped from 10-70 weights to 10-68's to try and compensate for the rpm loss, not impressed at all. Running rpm ended up being too high, and it still felt doggy all over. I hate this can, it's coming off before I ride again and wont be going back on. Until I find a better solution the noisy mbrp is what I will run.

Cheers, keep the rubber side down
Dan
