Can I use the lithium control module with a regular battery?

Yes you can!
The auto-shut down feature voltage setting is the primary difference between the two programs.

Lithium batteries have approx 1 volt higher free standing voltage. For example a fully charged Lithium battery will typically have a voltage of 13.7 volts and while a lead/acid battery will be approximately 12.6 volts.

Because of the higher voltage in a Lithium battery, the Lithium programming in the ROVCM will auto shut down at 13.2 volts. While the lead/acid programming shuts down at 12.2 volts.

The idea behind the auto shut down feature is to help prevent a dead battery due to pulling the tether to kill the sled, but forgetting to turn the key off at the end of the day. With the two different programs, the goal is the have the auto shut down kick in and still leave enough of a charge in the battery to be able to crank the sled over the next morning.

There is a 2 hour timer programmed in the ROVCM before it starts to monitor the battery voltage for the auto shut down feature. All other programmed functions are the same between both programs and because of the 2 hour timer window, it does allow you to use either program with both types of batteries.
