Hey, I have searched and not found anything.....is a drop and roll worth it on the iq's? Please share your thoughts.....

I have....It returns mostly links to companies that make them. One snowest link, but it only has three comments....no help at all. When I have searched snowest itself I get lots of posts that have nothing to do with it.

Anyone on here do it to their sled...if so, what did you think? was it worth it or not. I am specifically looking at doing it on my 07 dragon.

Thanks,

Austin

Many guys have done it to fit a different track and/or drivers. Most D & R talk is in the track threads.

I am under the impression that besides allowing more room for taller paddles on a track, it also changes the front angle of the track, allowing the sled to jump up on the snow easier. Is my thinking wrong? Is the only reason to do a drop and roll for more track clearance to run a different track or room for coolers?

Honestly, I am really just trying to find out more about something I know little about and have not been able to find much info on. I know it was something that was done to a lot of older sleds but do not see it as much on the newer sleds.

There are quite a few threads on the Drop n roll for the IQ-RAW chassis.

Here are some:

On the last thread, be sure to read through the whole thread as changes have occurred regarding the 3.0 Powerclaw drivers for IQ's which have now been available from Avid for a couple of seasons now.

BTW, Fastrax is the only company building the D&R for the IQ-RAW's. Holz no longer builds theirs.

IQ D&R

I installed this on my 08 700 last year. I simply did so to achieve a better approach angle. The improvement is significant, especially in really soft snow. The other benefits are the track clearance and the "no sag" rear suspension common on the IQ models.

The install is time consuming, but not to bad in terms of any technical difficulty.

I used the Fastrax kit. The assistance from the guys there is excellent!
