Rode Monte Cristo Today

No pics, sorry.

Dad and I went up. I was surprised that there was mostly about 8" of fresh. I was expecting more since paradise got 2'.

We rode west of Ant Flats, just frolliced and played in the rolling terrane. Got into some DEEP drift areas north of Scare canyon. Didn't think I'd ever get dad out...:) He came out pretty easy. Had a waist deep trench though.

Beautiful Blue-Bird day. Passed two sleds on the way out, and two sleds on the way in. Other than that I could only faintly hear sleds in the far off distance. I gotta say it was a good day.

I was up there with my dad too! Very fun day! Were you guys riding 2 Red Edge RMK's? Just a couple pix. We found some good snow! :D

We were up there Wednesday as well. It was a beautiful day with awesome riding all the way until I hit a tree on the way out. Good thing for insurance!

A friend and I rode to Sharp Mountain. towards powder mountain. Only saw another group of 3 all day on the way out. We were surprised to see how many rigs were up there. We got there late and made fresh tracks all day. Can't way for the weekend!!

saw a few tracks from a distance so we were in and out docking through the trees from ridge to ridge up to the memorial and followed the ridge across to sharp and down from there by the open hole on the trail and out we went. 3100 ft. HOLY CHIT! I didn't think you could even drop to it from there!

It was about 1/2 mile south of woodys memorial around 9,300 feet
down to 6,200 (according to our altimeters on our skidoo's) as long
as i have been riding over there i always thought if someone went off
that side it would be over!! cant believe we were home by 8:00. One
more thing i learned, DONT use reverse on that long of a desent, at about
2,000 feet belt broke, no brakes last 1100 feet, belt over skis would have
been way better.

HOLY PUCKER HOLE! A bit south of the memorial there is a wash that takes you to the trail at the bottom or i should say halve ways on the mountain side. I think that trail takes you to devenport down or back to sunridge area to the top. Sounds like you missed the turn! tell your buddy it was his other left! Glad you're ok. could of been ugly and a long night if you hadn't pick the right line of decent.

Just talked to the guy whos belt broke, my bad, i heard no brakes but
what he said was no engine brakes or reverse, sorry (i thought that sounded
wrong when he said that)

Turns out my dad was with your group, his 1150 crapped out, so he was on a PS600... He said it was an ugly decent!
Glad it all turned out for the best.

Your dad must be Steve, Dallas and Steve are two of the coolest
old guys i know, i hope when i'm that old, i'm still riding, dont know
about Steve but Dallas is 72. about 10 years ago Dallas is the one
who taught me how to ride.

Went riding up there today, it was Ok spring like conditions with no new snow.
It is fun just to get out and ride.

Good for you. It's good to get out.

Our last ride, last year had a lot of run-off in the bottom of ant flats. We rode water for about the last hour. It was pretty fun, about 3' deep.
