Rode a PRO 800 today, a 900 owner's comprehensive review!

I think some clutching and gearing might be ainvestment for the pros.
I also think I hate almost any sled with less than 6-7 inches of rise. It sucks riding bent over on any sled. I rode a KK 900 sunday too what a couch that was !

I still like my 9 !I think a sub 500# 900 with dialed clutching and supension is hard to beat. my buddy on the pro is a better rider than myself he was tired befor I was and I was out of Fuel first!

A few videos and descriptions added to post #2.

Not as much good video as I was hoping as we found better snow later in the day, but it's all I have to share.:face-icon-small-sad:)

Well....I really wish I had NOT ridden one. The Pro will make sub-average riders look like above average riders.

First of all, I absolutely loved my 900. But there is no 900 out there that will outperform the Pro in deep snow, tree riding, boondocking period. The problem many of us have when getting on a sled like this is we over-ride the sled. The Pro only requires minimal rider input unlike the 900. When the Pro begins to feel like you might stick it, simply let off the throttle a tad and the sled immediately pops back up on the snow and keeps going and going and going....This past weekend, a few of us watched Pro's go where I wouldn't dream of taking a 900.

I like many others was skeptical of the new chassis, motor, etc. I have crossed over to agreeing with the owners of these sleds that they are the real deal. I'm hoping for everyones sake that the issues of the past models stay in the past. Give the sled a full season to see. I still contend the E-Tec is a better built sled but they feel very similar in their handling characterisitcs and neither outperforms the other in deep snow to a noticeable degree. That debate is 50-50 IMO.

IMO, the amount of more torque the 9 has over the 8, does not come close to equaling even one of the better characteristics of the Pro. The only time the 9 is going to outperform a Pro will be a 166 climbing in spring set up snow. I didn't ride the Pro long, but long enough to realize I really want one.

Thanks alot Andrew...

bwahahahaa...I knew it dave..if you rode one you would be converted..good to hear..and you are right ..they are that good..as for the e-tec...it is a great sled as well..but I still think on the majority of days in the majority of conditions...the pro will edge it out(in no way will it dominate..but just edge it out)....glad to hear you enjoyed the ride....

I knew^^^^this was coming buddy. I didn't think it would come 6 minutes later. BWahahaha.:cheer2::cheer2:

Stalker. Now I deserve my tickey.

Down here in the real world (lol, higher alt's,) I think they are too close for one to have an edge over the other. I think the same quality of rider who rides their own sled on a normal basis, (Pro/E-tec) might trade the cool stuff on a daily basis, maybe depend on conditions, etc.

The bottom line is the Fun Factor on either when compared to Dragon's and Pre-2011 XP's and anything else pre-2010 is off the hook.
