Robber broke into my house with gun and bat

Asleep at 3:30am thursday morning. woke up to a guy with a flashlight taped to a 10 mm pistol pointed at us and a bat in his other hand. Short story is the guy went out the house on a gurney and no handcuffs. He was seriusly f'ed up. most likely brain damage from the wrong end of a bat. My wife needs to try of for baseball. We are ok , wife has 3 stitches above her right eye and I have 6 stitches on my hair line. Wife needs to learn bat control the police and medics that responded were in more shock than we were they said they had never seen something like that before. I sure hope that your self defense case turns out better than mine did. I ended up charged with felony aggravated battery. Still fighting it, I'm sure that it will get tossed but not before I have to pay a lawyer over $10,000 and spend Memorial day weekend in the Greybar Hotel. Good going but pray he doesn't sue you.
