road kill = wolf dinner

Wow! In all my years in Idaho and time spent on this highway, I have never seen wolves next to it! Seen many bears and cougars along with everything else native to the area.

the reason they were eating by a road like that is because they couldn't find game elsewhere its getting scarce, maybe they'll start eating each other or come into the suburbs and start on the greenies dogs and cats.

Obviously more and more are coming in. Wolves have been showing up in the Boise foothills in recent years. And maybe that's what F&G and the enviros are counting on - the wolves naturally balancing their numbers out once they've diminished their food supplies?

Exactly, and the problem with that is that it does not leave anything for hunters, which reduces the number of licenses and permits, which will end up negitively impacting all of wildlife through a reduction in programs designed to bolster fish and game populations. It is pretty easy now to argue that not managing wolves (that is, killing a significant portion of the existing population) is going to hurt wildlife more than just letting them breed themselves into starvation.

Also, to be fair, the F&G does not have any significant say with wolves (they tried to implement a season, but lawsuits held up the transfer of management).

My cousin ranches in northwestern Wyo. This summer he had 2 trying to sneak into his backyard while his kids were playing. Leave them in Yellowstone with the Sierra Club, but it they leave the park, KILL THEM!!!!!!
All those years we shot those killers on site gone down the toilet.

why kill it? Oh thats right most humans cant handle not being at the top of the food chain I forgot.

Hey if you look close you can see duc848 in the back ground hugging that tree. Those would have made someone some real nice hood ornaments

So a guy makes one comment on here and I get all theses guys giving me negative ratings. I am far from a "Greenie". Greenies dont snowmobile or road race motorcycles. I actually work in the industry which you guys spend all your money in. I asked a simple question and made a comment and get slammed. I am embarrased to be associated with the snowmobiling public at this point. Whats funny is some of the people who are talking **** are people who know who I am. Always remember people arent always as they seem online.......

And that is one of the reasons I tried to be somewhat diplomatic.

Your comment contained a fair amount of snark, which you should know, can get folks around here riled up very quickly. Your insinuation that we would kill wolves only because we somehow need to prove that we at the top of the food chain was way off base and had the predictable reaction.

If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the fire.

I just think the negative ratings and comments I got was pretty childish. I realize everyone has an opinion. It was a jokingly kind of serious comment that I didn't realize would get that kind of reaction. Oh well.
I am heading to boise in a week to pick up my new sled from the shop I worked at at a few years ago.
Hope to see some of you on the hill someday. We can talk about wolves...

wrong wolves

When they reintroduced the wolf they brought them down from canada and those wolves are 3 times the size of the ones that were here naturaly. I have seen a pack of 7-8 while hunting and it wasnt fun. If you see them just practice the 3S'(shoot, shovel, and shut-up). now how many of us pack a gun while riding?!

Just gut shoot one now and then!!! They'll take care of each other!!!! Real Good!!!!

ya be a big man..take care of it on the hill thats not being a kid at all..And who are you and were do you work like that matters..

As a fellow rancher in Idaho , our cows and horses have been harrassed enough, the elk and deer that used to munch on our haystacks are all gone , I cant let my kids play outside after dark, wont ride with out a gun anymore, and to top it all off my dogs cant leave the doghouse to **** without getting ate by these nice little fluffy creatures. I will tell you what, if someone doesnt do something about this problem soon, it will only escalate into something they cant deal with.

It really wasn't a reintroduction, since the native wolves weren't gone. The Canadian wolves are taking care of that though.

F&G can't set hunting seasons until USFWS delist the speicies. YES their numbers need to be reduced IMO. If F&G reduce the number sufficetly maybe we can have both healthy elk/deer and wolf populations. But it seems the greenies have let it get out of hand in some areas. Just wanting to kill all the wolves won't happen, we NEED MANAGMENT of the populations ASAP.
