I am sure being a greenie you have studied some of dr. val geists work. might want to see what his feelings are now that he lost one of his own to a wolf kill. call any ranchers in idaho, montana o wyoming and ask how the reintroduction is treating them. wolves live on mice............right, as long as there is not any elk or deer winter range around. there is a reason our forefathers made them go away. but, like global warming we need to change the world so i does not bust into flames. or of course we could all quit using toilet paper as it destroys the spotted owl habitat........there is a lot of responsibility being a human, and I for one am all about survival of the fittest. reintoing a wolf is not doing anyone favors. remember bob barker, spay or neuter your pets? prolly not huh? keep this in mind.

I'll answer a little more diplomatically than Spring (although your post made me laugh).
Not many folks here are too worried about a wolf or two wandering around (we have had them in very small nubmers up to 1995). The problem now is that there are so many, they are impacting the deer and elk herds without any way for the state to actually manage them. They are free to grow at rates that have no checks and balances. The enviros and their incessant lawsuits have made sure that it is our of our hands and the big game populations be dammed. Where I grew up, (pretty close to the area where this pic was taken) they have slashed all of the elk permits in half due to the drastic crash in the elk populations due to wolves.
This result is less money for the F&G which forces them to increase tag/license prices. The hunters are now forced to pay more money for less opportunity, they get fed up and hang up the gun. That hurts the economy of the towns such as Challis, Salmon, Riggins, Orofino and on and on.
"Don't worry" says the enviros, "The wolf watchers will flock in by the thousands and it will be a boon to these economies"

And that is not even getting into the livestock depredation

Have you know i have been a long time hunter until this year and ill
tell you like i told f&g on my harvest report.I will not pay inflated rates
on said hunting privlidges when we dont have any elk or deer left to hunt.
If you or anyone else wants hunters as myself to continue to pay to help manage our wildlife to keep everything in check.Quit your *****en and support the fact that the wolf population needs to be managed.If that does not sound good to you please send your donations to some pig headed
idiot in newyork as they seem to do such a great job managing our wildlife
from an office back there.

the reason they were eating by a road like that is because they couldn't find game elsewhere its getting scarce, maybe they'll start eating each other or come into the suburbs and start on the greenies dogs and cats.
