Unfortunately I suck when it comes to pics, etc. I was going to take lots of pics and measurements and weigh everything. I took a few pics, made a few measurements and didn't weigh anything.CatEye That is sweet!!!! Any chance you have more pictures showing how you did it?? Also do you know what they eye to eye measurements of all the shocks are that you used? I have set of front Fox shocks that are 17.5" from center to center of the eye. Wondering if these shocks would work. Did you change the A-Arms to ones you took off a Pro or just stick with the EVO A- Arms? Did you change spindles? Is the caster or camber affected by these longer shocks?
The front end of an RMK EVO is the exact same front end as a 2011- 2012 Pro RMK only with shorter springs on the shocks. And I know this for a fact because my 2014 Pro RMK 800 is now sporting a lower A-arm from a 2020 EVO. My dealer didn't have any 2014 A-arms ( they were the ones that were glued together) so we put the EVO A-arm on. So, whatever shock length fit a Polaris in the Pro Ride chassis fits the EVO. All we did to the shocks was put the lightest spring we could find on the rear track shock. Other than that they were straight off an RMK 800 in the Pro chassis.
I re-aligned the skis after I got done - may have made a 1/8" adjustment if that much. I expected the ski stance to get narrower and it did but by less than 1/2".
My very good guess is that I got rid of ten pounds in the process.
So, the front end was a piece of cake. Unbolt the old shocks, bolt on the new ones and check the alignment.
The throttle was also a piece of cake. buy a new one, unplug the old one and put the new one on.
The rear skid was a bit more of a challenge. Pull the skid, drill new holes in the rear mounting brackets, change the limiter strap to a new longer one (I used one from an Indy 550 that I had - same part number as the one that comes in the upgrade kit from Polaris) remove the aluminum block that limits the rear track shock travel (you'll see it) swap out the shocks and bolt the skid back in.
As laid out above, changing the running boards was the big project.
I went to the internet, found the polaris upgrade kit and downloaded the part numbers list as well as the installation instructions which conveniently tells you everything!
