Want to do one of these kits on my GF sled she has a 2011 rmk 800 with what I believe to havepistons? Not sure I bought it used it has 2500 miles on it. I have heard good things about both kits but I am leaning toward RK just because of price. I just want a reliable sled for her mainly because I don't wanna have any problems while we are riding. So I wanna get her engine as reliable as possible for my peice of mind.

What are your guyses recommendations?

I wanted to do a poll but I don't know how.

I would find out how to do a poll, I think you will get more honest feedback on them than just having an open comment thread. You could also ask consumers to PM you, but that could be a pain for you as well. Just my thoughts as you see very little feedback either way in the open forum. I ride with a friend that went with the Fix it kit, but it is a Dragon and only 1 season on it. If you want my opinion of the other one PM me.

I'm sure both are good, and for sure both kits are better then polaris pistons.i think one kit uses cast pistons the other forged.just can't reamber what uses what. So it might just come down to if you want to go cast or forged pistons.

The Fix Kit from MTNTK or PMS Polaris. The original fix kit that debuted in 2010 when dragon's were the norm and the other brand wasn't even out yet!

I put a pms kit in my friends dragon he was fighting rpm problems and it woke the sled right up and ran great, I also have installed 3 drop in kits from rkt into my own sleds. I liked the rkt kits better because they gave the me a very smoot running sled with a very nice h/p bump and great durability. the rkt kit was only a few hundred dollars more then the pms kit and came with a head. I don't tink you can go wrong with either kit. good luck.

RkTek uses forged Wossner pistons and Mtntk uses forged Wiseco Pistons.

Does anybody make a high quality hypereutectic cast piston as a direct replacement (no shims under the cylinder)?

Mtn tech or rkt

I have installed both of these kits on different sleds and they both run great with no problems but in my opinion I like the wosner pistons better than the Wisco pistons just my .02

Do both for the utmost confidence, I did. Well I did a par long rod and rkt pistons. Kind of the same thing

I run the MTNTK kit with a 13-1 par head and so far I am very impressed with the power .A friend showed up last winter with his RKTek kit so I got to try them side by side we both agreed mine had more snap and pulled harder but mine is also geared down . I will say his was smoother running ( less vibration ).All and all I think most kits out there are good but few have the tested miles that the MTNTK kit has because of the Dragons .
I will be trying a SLP pipe and the new Dobec fuel controller this year .
