RKTek 858 is LEGIT!

Jkinzer,

Who is the 910 that is riding with you? Do you know what he is running for clutching? And who's map they have? I have found this makes a huge difference with the 910's.

I agree there couldn't be any apple to apple comparisons. I am running a 910 with 13.5 compression and twins. My personal map and clutching, like yours I have it set up for the trees. Fast track speed and instant throttle response. With a kmod rear skid and a cmx front end. (Just about as close to riding a dirt bike on snow as I have felt). I just want to see how the other big bores are running. Just guys having fun. I have no intention to get on here after a bash the builder or guys sleds after. Like you said ever sled is set up different. I know Brad is settling sleds up to what each guy wants so each 910 that leaves is setup a little different. As I am sure kelsy and Carls is doing also.

i'll quiz Mike a little this weekend on it, i know he has the single on it right now and was talking about going to twins now that hes really happy with where its at. i believe he has the 13.5 compression with the CPI single now. zbroz 36" front with X1's all the way around. and its a 163 not a 155

That would be me, I'm one of the few the dobeck worked for so I haven't switched to a vipec or pc v YET! My set of twins should be here in a week or two. I'm going to try tuning them with the dobeck first if not I will have to change to one of the other two. It runs pretty strong in the trees running 63.5 grams with a 140-340 drive & a 160-240 driven. It would be a lie if I told you the helix I was running It's been a year since I have had it off.

I still have one of those old school 2 1/4" tracks not this new fancy 3"

If you decide to run a vipec with your twins. Let me know. I have my running night and day from last year with the single. I am running neck and neck with a mtn tek turbo on the top end. And my bottom and mid are crisper than they have ever been.

What weights are you running, how do you have them loaded?

Not to keep straying from the 858 topic, but...

I just have to give KC some props...he has been a HUGE help getting my 910 DIALED. I ride out here in the nose bleed seats (Colorado). I too run the VIPEC and just have the CPI single for now. It made a BIG difference once I had the correct map and clutching set-up. Both came from KC's advice. It has been a real treat getting to pick his brain. He and Bryce @ Turboboyz know there stuff. Brad has also been very responsive to any questions and extremely helpful. Can't say enough good things about this setup and the guys involved :)

It's good news to hear that those with the 910's are getting them dialed in. :beer;

From my point of view, the PAR offering is the one that does the most to address the vulnerability of our 800 engines while improving performance. The only downside is that for those of us with shallower pockets, $8000 - $8500 is way too much money to spend in order to make this package work.

NA power will have a quicker throttle response than boost will. But these turbo's are so small that the difference in response may not be that noticeable for some. Tight trees - I would do the big bore. But like Sahen said - if you're looking for high marking and out-climbing everyone, turbo is the way to go.

Cory Micku is an exception.:face-icon-small-ton
