I intend to put an 858 kit on my 2011 assault and rebuild the sled I wanted to know how many are running trouble free and how many have issues....

Thanks for your input

I voted no issues. I did have to tune the fueling and clutching alot. I wouldnt call them issues though. Kelsey does mention the numbers are just a starting point. Thing runs crazy strong and works great!! Took a while to tune the clutching but it needs LOTS and LOTS of weight down low on the rooster weights.

loved mine and all the ones we have built this year made for happy customers as well. I voted fur fuel tuning and clutching as you will have with any mod... people that truly understand that do it themselves, people that don't go through shops like mine :) so its done for them. These kits flat rock! On the 2011 however i would be careful as the cylinder skirts are MUCH thinner than the 13/14 skirts, if you plan on keeping the sled for awhile it would be worth the time and effort to get ahold of a 13/14 cylinder and have your case machined to fit

Sounds like good advice.

Did you do this mod. to any of the engines you installed the 858 kit on?

all of the kits we've done in house have been on 13's and 14's so we haven't had to perform this task but it is definitely worth doing

RMS...

A fellow Member voted incorrectly and asked if I could correct the mistake.

Not able to remove his/her name from the list without deleting the whole list... so it was made anonymous.

Simple.

Ok, just wondering why the names disappeared that were there before. Understand.

For me seeing who is voting on what adds to validity of these polls. I also feel it holds the voter somewhat accountable for what they vote on... Kinda protects from guys like ACforever who bleeds green and never even seen a Polaris from voting that his 2014 Cfi2 800 blew up with 250 miles on the is the Poo motor junk poll. lol

thats sucks about the anonymous deal

the first thing I did when i saw some vote it a waste of money was check a few of their posts and found one (cant remember who) appeared to be affiliated with a shop in some way and had quite a few bad things to say about rk tek in multiple posts...i meant to come back and check the rest for validity...

this was pretty important to me as I'm very tossed between the ideas of buying a sled with a turbo or 858 or even installing a turbo or 858 on my current sled

Rick... I hear what you are saying and agree.

If there is another way to change fix the voters mistake... I would have.

The results are unchanged other than removing the incorrect vote and putting it where it belongs.

I agree with what you and rms are saying.... and I also believe that it would be unfair for the member that voted incorrectly to be "examined" in the wrong light because the wrong box was checked... apparently, rightfully so since the voting results are being scrutinized so.

Could just keep the vote information public and made a "note" at the top or on the header that "person xyz accidentally voted for option A when they meant to vote for option B". anonymous polls are hard to hold any credibility. is there even a way to verify if the people voting actually have an 858? i WAS going to put a lot of stock into this poll, as I'm eyeballing a 858 equipped pro thats for sale right now. but now it appears to be just about worthless. go ahead flame away sorry just IMHO.

Whoever voted incorrectly, man up and post your true intentions.

In other news, who has a proven fuel map for the 858 with high elevation domes? this sled i'm lookin at buying only has a couple hundred miles on the kit. running straight race gas here in MN and premium pump gas out west. i'm concerned that the fuel map has room for improvement, and if anyone is providing them I would be definitely interested. Also, can the same map be used with good success regardless of the elevation?

What I saw with a quick search of the users that voted waste of cash was that 1 out of the 5 (I see there is 6 now) posted on here about problems on his 858. The other 4 seemed to have no connection with it and one it appeared either had some sort of shop or was affiliated with one. Also remember that 1 of them 4 might have incorrectly voted. The one that had problems said he was an inexperienced tuner but was mislead by advertising that it was pretty much bolt on and go.

I have no experience with the 858 but have the DI kit. If the 858 is similar to the DI kit the fuel #s will change with elevation. As for a proven map every sled is different, just because my #s work for me doesn't mean they are gonna work on the exact same model and year of sled for someone else. Although safe base #s might work on all sleds what separates the rippers from the so so sleds is the final tune.

If you are tuning savvy you shouldn't be afraid of it. If your not you should reconsider or get professional help that has experience with that particular kit.

I am very tuner savvy with carbeurators. But this would be my first time monkeying with computerized fueling. Kinda makes me nervous....

MH,
Just to clarify. Were you able to change the wrong vote but couldn't change the name from under which they originally voted or you couldn't change either so you hid the names?

If he couldnt change either than the poll is inaccurate and we're being deliberately mislead by leaving the poll up. Even if its only one vote, its the principle here guys...

I smell fish. Someone somewhere is being coerced into or out of something...

I don't think anything fishy is going on.

bryceraisanen, start a new one if your worried about it and basing a decision off of it.

858

I am good with it. I am surprised that we haven't seen more voters. I know there are a ton out there. I figured I would try this on my rebuilt, and if I like it, I will add one to my 14.
