RK TECK PISTON AN HEAD KIT

second ride out today, ran better today now that its getting broke in, we had a pro with us with a power commander slp pipe and clutch work, my sled climbed out of this hill and the piped sled got stuck in my tracks about 30 yards from the top, the kit is working very well imo.

wonder what is different as dyno tech had a sled there that they tried a shim and timing key and made good power but had deto issues in the field , this would be at new york elevation.

the doo kit is a shorter piston above the wrist pin by roughly 2 mm and the head insets into the cylinder the coresponding amount to keep compression in check.

I would think that this poo kit is along those same lines where it is shorter above the wrist pin and domes similar, lots of guys at elevation seem to have good luck on the doos with this so maybe rkt is onto something here.

I'm sure nothing else came into play here.

so what is the diference in the piston?

Kelsey uses a hemi-dome design for his kits (which is why you need both pistons and head) and they've been very popular with the Doo crowd. Will be interesting to see how it works out for the Poo. Hopefully he'll chime in here.

Have FUN!

you mean a hemispherical dome? Id like to run it against a simularly but differently modded sled. Seems like a lot of money for a small upgrade. Now with a full package like a big bore, head, pipe, can, clutching, fuel controller, im sure it owuld make a big diference, but how many people actualy mod sleds now-a-days. Seems like Everyone bolts on a boondocker turbo and rides.

Treedocker, how about a side by side hill climb comparison report but the fact that the other sled got stuck in your track doesn't offer any real ride report comparison unless your trying to say that he ran out of power when you didn't?

Or he was trying to follow a trenched path...
