River Valley Dutchmen Race

Just heading out for day two of WPSA racing and have a few minutes. I guess Big D said it the best.
Everyone will have a reasonable class to race in. Perfect for each no. I think if everyone things about a race event like this - they will realize here is a club that runs one race a year so they cannot get everything just right. Our experience is that the racers are pretty understanding that we are not a big time race circuit (note I have noticed they don't have all the answers either)

That being said we are a racey club with several members that race regular. I attend 10-12 events a year with my son's race team. So we try to learn a little on what to do back home.

I can tell you mixing talent into a cc class works pretty well. Dustin was pretty excited to race against Chad Baurerly a couple years ago!
So for the new guys winning is not everything - sure you want to win or don't race.

Race for experience and Run for Fun!
I will be offline and out of town the rest of the week. Big D is a respected member on Snowest and the club so I trust he will be able to jump on from time to time.

Remember the link on the very first post on this thread for condition updates etc. With snow in the forcast and plenty in the Valley consider this a go as of today! Conditions change in MN so updates may be needed. JAK

I was wondering if you get alot of spectators for this race also. I was thinking about coming over. I live in Mankato and work in New Ulm. I am also trying to sell my sled right now and was wondering if I could bring that with a for sale sign on it.

Past years have always draw a great crowd, I see know problem in bring your sled a long heck you might want to race it with a for sale sign on it!! I am sure it would sell for sure if you win!!!:D:D:D
Hope to se Ya There

Hey Darren, Josh W here, Just seen they down graded our snow totals to 1-3 inches today. Big surprise, I guess we should be used to it. Hopefully it is enough to help out the event this weekend. Are you going to the club meeting thursday? or racing saturday?

Planning on racing a few classes, they did some work on the hill this weekend not sure of what and how much but by the sounds of it everything should be good to go!!!! I pretty sure I will be at the meeting Thursday.

Hey I would love to see two feet of powder to race in, I think I would enter every class then, but we live in Minnesnow-less so we have to take what we can get and believe me we have enough snow down there to make a pretty good track!!!!

Big D quick question can one bring a sled or a ATV there and use it to get around on. I have 4 people coming to watch and last time I was at spirt mt hill drags the would let you use your atv to get around. Just wondering thanks much see you saturday in the A.M
Mike

Mike, Really not that big of grounds that you will need a four wheeler, if you want I don't really see a problem with you bring one as long as you are not ripping around on it. Second question about what class you will be in on a f7 you can run any class from the stock 700 and up. We got a couple inchs of fresh today better then nothing and at least know rain.

Forecast calling for it to be a little colder on Saturday but don't worry will have the bonfire and heated beer gardens along with a heated building to eat in.
See Ya at the Hill

with my trail converted and liscensed 440 sno pro am i able to race both the trophy 500 class and the cash 500 class if i want to?

Yes we are going to allow you to jump up to the cash classes, it is only if you have a non-registered race sled that you are only allowed to race in the cash classes.

I was wondering if you had an address so I can get directions.

Also was wondering how well plowed it is there. I will be bringing my sled for show (for sale) and wondering if a car with trailer will make it down there, or if I should bring my 4WD Blazer. Thanks!

First where are you coming from? If you can get to New ulm and head out on hwy 29 you will see the signs about 12-14 miles out of town. If can get to hwy 4 heading towards Sleepy Eye you will want to turn on 29 towards New Ulm and then you will see the signs. There is a pretty good hill down into the grounds not sure what shape it is in.

I will be coming from Kato/New Ulm. Sounds easy enough. I think I can figure it out. lol Sounds like it will be cold and possible snow. I will bring my blazer just in case. By the way, my name is Dan if you notice me by my sled. My sled is a 1996 Skidoo Mod with black mesh hood. Hope to have a good time!! and thanks for all of the quick answers to questions!

Just wondering how your meeting went last night and if it is still a go tommarow even with the really cold weather coming in? Also is the race located off of cty. RD. #4 then and what time does will we approx. be done racing for the day if we are in the 500 race cash class? Does each class run til its done and onto the next one up or does it skip around between heats/classes to mix it up? Thanx much for the help and time!

Everything is a go they built the track last weekend and are going down today to touch it up. Not sure what to tell on when you will be done with 500 race class depends on how many people are there to race. Most years we have ran a class all the way out and then moved on to the next class but I didn't exactly hear what there plan for this year was. Jak should be back this afternoon and might jump on here and I will stop out this evening so I might be able to find out what there plans are on running classes. This is down in a valley and we have taken some steps to help block what wind we will get. There is also a heated building and beer tent that is heated. Bonfires will be going!!!!!
Later Darren
