Ridden with Burandt or Skinner?

So is it ridiculous money? Yes. Is it pretty unnecessary to have the same amount of fun riding with your local friends? Maybe. Over rated? Don't know.

I'm just curious is anyone on here has gone out and ridden with Burandt or Skinner. What did you think? What was your experience like? Did you feel like it was worth it?

I sold my business this year just in time to be able to take the whole winter off to ride and since I have some extra money now I thought it may be pretty fun to get out and ride with some pros.

Any experiences?

I have ridden with Matt Entz a few times, who I believe to be in the same League as the other 2. It is an eye opening experience for sure, it has definitely improved my riding and I believe there is much more to learn. Watching and following them IMO is a great way to realize what can be done on a sled.

Rode with Burandt last year, It's expensive but definitely worth it to do at least once. It's a real eye opening experience what these guys can do on a sled plus Burandt and Skinner are really awesome guys, you won't regret going.

BBA

I would say yes it's 100% worth the money. I have booked a couple of trips with them. My techniques improved, my line choices are better, i spend less time getting myself unstuck, it's opened up new riding areas to me and to top it off i have some great new friends i can talk sleds with and gain great information from.

Try Mountain Skillz or Next Level. I have looked at both sites, I know Entz and have ridden with him. He shed alot of light on things I could change and it has made me a better rider. I think both Matt's or Dan's will offer you much more info, skills and avy awareness than BBCA will give you.

I'm not going to bash BBCA. I like Skinner. But you will get more for your money with either Matt or Entz. If I were to do it, I'd go with Matt's operation.

I know Brown also and while I think he's got a top notch operation, he's in BC. I think that would be more costly and you can get the same treatment and lessons from Matt or Dan.

From what I have experienced,

Entz = not Hollywood:face-icon-small-hap

Adams = looks Hollywood:face-icon-small-coo

Burandt = acts Hollywood:yo:

lol...just havn fun guys, It would be awesome to try each class out, one can dream

Know if you want areal Backcountry Experience and tons of snow (Usually), Contact Dan Davidoff/KrazyCanadian he Lives in Castlegar BC. And he Knows the country like the back of his hand. hes not there to teach you technique but to show you some awsome backcountry ridding areas..Definatly cheaper than Burandt ect..and way better snow! But then again since your from
Coeur d'Alene Maybe you've already ridden there?

It is great to go out and ride with your friends. However, how preparred are they? Have they had avalanche training? Are they the ones you want to be out there with if something goes wrong? I have heard Adams does a great job of instructing and preparing you in case of an avalanche. I am sure the others are great too.

Here is one way to look at it. If you have all winter to ride I am sure you buddies are going to be able to go when you do so why not give one of these services a try?

I always have a blast with Brown in Whistler, terrain and snow are amazing. Dan Adams runs a 1st class operation and is sure to improve your skills, great area, great snow. Buradnt has the platinum standard for touring adventures and you get to laugh at Sahen the whole time. Matt Entz has the prestigious wolf creek pass area with best snow in colorado, first year operation so we will get reviews as the year passes.

I know all these guys personally and wouldn't have a problem recommending any of them to you. I am sure where ever you go will be the experience of a lifetime (as it should be) and I encourage you to ride with the person you want to ride with, i.e. make your own dreams come true, regardless of input on the internet

That said, I am going to put in a personal plug for my good friend Matt Entz! He is pure awesomeness! :photo:

a few questions for you....

are you wanting to travel with your sled?= dan adams is closer

are you wanting to learn some skills? = dan adams/ geoff kyle and rene st. onge (bc)

or just go for a ride with "pro's" = burandt

do you want to get bashed for riding something that is not a polaris? = burandt

do you want to spend more money than you think it is worth...= burandt...

i've been able to go do a couple of classes from the pro's...

with burandt...when i went it was chase burandt and hope you can figure out where your supposed to go, becasue he won't tell you where he is going...no avalanche safety, heck he didn't even bring avalanche gear.. you get a couple of pointers, but for the most part he is taking you on a ride and hope you can keep up...you would get more out of watching schooled videos than being there in person..it did make me buy a m series sled from cat though...

with rene and geoff in up out of revy last year, we had epic snow so that made a difference, but they also took indvidual time with you to give you pointers...also we worked on avy training

doing the next level this year in feburary...excited to for that, never been to alpine...

good luck

If I was you I would go with who ever you are closest too because you will learn a lot and become a better rider with who ever you chose to ride with! It is for sure worth the money though!

Good luck
