Revo's or Wranglers??

So I took the leap and am running these(wrangler duratracs) studded up. They seem to be good thus far but only time will tell they have a good tread pattern and ride good and are relativley quiet? I liked the stud-ability of the tire? maybe this will help I believe the tire is new as of Febuary 09?

I've been looking at that tire for the next set.

Good year Duratracs.

They seem to track well in about 3-4 inches of slushy snow. First trip pulling the enclosed. So far so good? I will post more down the road once I have a few more miles on them. I will post about approx wear and driving condtions and how they worked.

I was in the same boat on my new to me f150.

I was looking at the revo's because of the pattern and it looks like a good tire. Went to the tire shop in town (only have 2-3) and asked about them. Then he took me to the back and showed me a set of revo's that came off a truck like mine. He said they had 50,000kms on them. They were trashed. Almost bald. And for the price around 365 bucks a tire I decided to pass on them. He said if you drive rough roads, gravel and bush roads the revo's will tear up and just plain suck.

Went and looked at some Silent Armours on a co-workers truck with 65000kms on them and they were about 1/2 gone. Still had biting edges and in good condition. Got a sweet deal at 1200 bucks for 3 tires and 1 free all installed and out the door. Got to test them in mud, snow, ice and slush. Excellent tire. 4 weeks ago on the way to school at 6 in the morning ran into a blizzard with 2 inchs of snow/ice on the road. Kept the truck at 70mph the whole time during the snow covered roads and had 0 slip and had to turn the radio up cause of the sound of the tires throwing and gripping snow/ice.

Only downside was I picked a screw within 300kms but other then that they are excellent. Wouldn't change them for anything but a set of Toyo Open Country M/T with extra sipping. The silent armours are well worth the money. 5000miles and no noticeable wear.

Revos for sure! I am on my fourth set for four different vehicles. With the rotation you will go beyond 50k+
If you want a good alternative Hercules Terra Trac

Before you rush on purchasing new tires, most critical part considered in tire purchase are the LOAD RATING in alphabet letters such as C or D or E. For 3/4 ton trucks get load E if you are pulling camper or enclosed trailer, or load D if you are pulling light trailer but DO NOT PUT LOAD C tires on 3/4 trucks unless you drive truck daily with almost no towing however if towing trailer comes in the play, so for safety reasons, as load may exceed the tire load rating cause premature wear or blowouts! However, drawback is cost and compromise ride on higher load rating tires. Some of you state how well tires last or wear well, I am sure that is because of higher load rating contribute that part. I had 11 years experience working with tires before change the career.
