Retarded Ebay seller duped me, need advice Reed Cages

I bought a used set of reed cages / intake boots for my wifes 700 summit from a guy on ebay. Asked specificly before bidding if they were clean and had no cracking. Well it took over two weeks for the guy to ship them and today they finally showed up..

Dissapointed to say the least. They look like they were burried in the dirt, they are covered both inside and out with sand and dirt. They are cracking as well, it's not bad like the ones on here sled now but I can see hairline cracking around the neck to the boost bottle.

I can take some pics but I honestly just want to send them back, I knew I should have just paid for the boysens or v-forces and gone new. If I do decide to keep them what is the best way to clean the reeds and rubber? I dont want to risk using carb / brake cleaner and drying out the rubber.

Lesson learned, don't buy used critical parts on ebay

Did you use paypal to pay for them? If so I would start a claim.
If they are cracked I would not use them (Found out the hard way)because its to risky. Burn't dowm sled is not worth it.

ya I was already thinking that.... I emailed the seller today and told him we wanted to return them. I had emailed him two days before the auction ended specificly asking about the condition of the intake boots and have his reply saying they are in good condition. I've had bad experiences in the past with ebay resolution center so I hope we dont get screwed over on this one and the seller just trys to make it right.

I've heard the v-force reed boots only last a season or two, from what I read online boysen is the way to go for longevity.

Sucks you got ousted on the cages. I've used the resolution center before and all worked out, so hopefully it does for you as well.

If you decide to go new, go Boyesen. Have put 4 sets on 4 different sled over the past few years, and have not had any problems with any of them.

how about the new ones from dennis kirk..I will need new ones on my 02 zx gt sometime also..yea..check with pay pal & start a claim..get your $$$ back..your just up the road from me....we had 15" snow a week ago..and rained this past weekend...can you name the sucky ebay seller??
