Retainer Nut

Do you have to buy a new retainer nut everytime you take you track out? Or can you re-use it? Seems like a $ grab from cat on this one!!

I have pulled my track probably 15 times and have always re-used the nut. I don't see any reason to replace it. I don't use loctite either infact I use a lot of anti-sieze when I re-assemble and have never had issues with it backing out. If you don't use anit-sieze on the shaft where it goes through the bearing you will be sorry as it can be a PITA to get out if it rusts.

NOT TO HIJAKC BUT.....

right between the retainer nut and the brake disc, are there supposed to be 2 spacers for the brake disc (cat parts fiche shows 2) but I only pulled 1 out of my sled I swear (I DONT THINK i lost the other over last winter).

Thanks guys

PS. I plan on reusing the retainer nut to.

I just did all my bearings on my diamond drive and brake side!! There is 2 spacers! But one is in between the 2 bearings on the brake side. The other sits on the imput shaft before you put the retainer nut back on.

Hope this helps..
