relay switch

Has anyone replaced a relay switch on a 2006 800 Summit? I was told since my speedo, hand-warmers, and tach aren't working but my sled runs (not very well) I need a new relay switch. Should I go to Ski Doo or my local auto parts store? Any help would be appreciated

Local parts store is fine for the relay, make sure it is a sealed unit. However, you state poor running also. I never had one run bad when the relay was shot. Not saying it is not related, but seems unusual.

Mine ran bad when the relay was junk.

I just replaced 2 relays in 2 weeks on 2 of our XRS's......kind of a fluke deal I thought, but the dealer says they are seeing 4 to 5 a week.

both ran crappy and had no lights or guages

and to top off the weekend, another XRS in our group needs a new short block....... 2000 miles on the original

Relay Switch

Yep, replaced mine last year on my 06 Rev Summit 800.

Funny thing was that I pulled the bad relay out and took it down to Car Quest and had it checked out and they said it was good.

I went ahead and bought another one anyway from them (much cheaper then Doo) and installed it, and bingo all systems were Go!

I now carry a spare relay switch on my sled.
