I recently installed aftermarket ski rubbers on our sleds. I hit a buried crust layer during a sidehill that stopped me dead and folded the ski up pretty good (no serious damage). Probably would have just blown the ski rubber in the past. At least the stock ski rubber would have had enough give for the ski to have flipped up and onto the crust without actually bending the ski. I guess the force now goes to the next weakest point. I see several companies make these kits to reinforce the area of the ski where the bolt goes though. Has anyone run these braces after having upgraded ski rubbers?
