RB3 VS Power Commander lll

Still keeping track of this thread. I do agree that fuel management is VERY important. I just hope the price can stay down lower near the $1500 range. I just don't see myself dropping 3K on my fuel system. I would love to do it but just can't justify it these days.

Well , we had it on the dyno , things were going realy good until we thought we took out a head gasket , well it was the head gasket , but it went out because # 3 cylinder steel sleeve turned 12 degrees , well everyone is working hard to get things going again , going thought everything in the motor to eliminate any other / more failures ( bad time of year to get things done )
But the stand alone system was working unreal until this happen , at 6500 rpm , 7 lbs of boost we were getting 258 HP and a unreal 208 ft / lbs of torque , well i will let you know how thing go once we are at it again and will try posting some videos .

Getting anywhere with that closed loop system?
Thanks

I think one sled will be finished the first part of next week and Gunner's motor is delayed for another week or so.

Motorheads sled is back together and will be back on the dyno on Wednesday , he is starting with the map from mine as a starting base line , so if all goes well with he motor , the tuning should go along quickly .
Hoping my block should be back sometime next week and back together the next , and back on the dyno shortly after that and then more feild tuning with lightspeed around here before heading to Revey at the end of the month .
The standalone fuel / timing system has worked as we were hoping it would , The motor related problems that we ran into were from the past and we had to fix these issues before continue with the standalone , i for one got new pistons , new block ( my old one that was steel sleeved by mongoose , That dropped & turned one sleeve and when looked at by mongoose all 4 sleeve were egged again , new block is getting closed deck only ,no sleeving ) New crank ( lack of oil pressure and flow )
I have heard of guys haveing cylinder egging issues with every type of set up now , steel sleeved , steel sleeved and closed decked , stock cylinders and i hear of guys not having any issues with these same set up , ever engine is different and needs a different tune , some guys are good tuner with the time to do it some are not , i am not , and i am trying to get a system that is more tuneable , freindly to use and does it all as one unit. (fuel / air control , timing control , auto tunes , close loop , data logger ,knock senser (s) that auto retards timing , runs meth system , anti turbo lag , launch control ( pulls timing and cuts cylinder out ).
Well time will tell .

Gunner, looks like you sold your RB3, sounds like your making progress w/ the closed loop. Thanks for the update.

Yes i did sell the RB3 , to late to go back now and motorhead sled is up and running with the standalone , he just has to find time now to ride it .
all that are involved with this project ( Cam , Lightspeed innovations , Myles , Rocky Mountain Yamaha , and of course me and motorhead have put a lot of time and money into it , Motorhead and i have not been out sledding yet this year because we got involve with this , and i for one knew something had to be done for better engine management on these sleds , and we both ended up haveing engine problems from the past that was again fuel / timing related , that had to be fixed before we could carry on with this project .
Well my new block /mod oil pump just got back from One Stop Preformance and the rebuild will start and hoping to have it back on the dyno for more tuning next week .
