Anyone had a bad ratcheting sound at the start at the tunnel/chaincase. My sks sounds real bad and im gonna leave it at my dealer. And the track is straight and the chain not slacking.

havent been on snow yet so nothing can be wrecked.

The track on my Apex turbo is way looser and it sure as hell dont ratchet, and this one looks quit tight. But it sounds as its stabbing itself as soon you get engagement.

Nice PDI they did there...

Hopefully they take care of you.

my sks made a similar sound when the back was picked up and reved. However, driving it out of the garage it didn't make a sound. I think its just the clips sliding on the slides because they haven't worn in correctly yet and having no weight on the track makes it much more noticeable.

ive built turbosleds etc and this is way to loud even when driving. well gonna leave it at the dealer.

Pop the belt off wont cut it this time, had a look today and either the track pulls sideways or the rail is bent, the sound is the track clip hitting the tip of the rail at the right side.

you can se on the left side it has the same distance all the way and at the right side it narrows down at the beginning. Im not a happy customer right now and starting to love my Tapex more and more :juggle:

You mentioned your rail maybe bent, did your dealership load it, or move it at all with a fork lift? If so, an inexperienced operator can do some serious damage without even knowing it. They can easily bend a rail, cut into the side of the track, push the belly pan up into the quick drive ( which is dropped even lower and more vulnerable this year without a quick drive skid plate). These are some of the items to check as well.

Dont believe the rails are bent since there are no marks and the rail then must been pushed outwards, more likely the fitting of the drive wheels, the sled is now at the dealer for making a full checklist.

My sled had a ratcheting sound occurring, so I tightened the track a bit thinking that might be it, even thought it was plenty tight. Next day tried ridding and same sound, which was no doubt from the chain case. So the ride was over at that point.

Got home and pulled the cover off the chain case, and much to my disappointment there was not a drop of oil in the chain case. Gears had been very hot and the chain was just about fused stiff. I don't think it ever got shipped with oil in the case, and the I also think dealer missed it on the PDI (Although they swear it had oil in it on the PDI). I think I would have noticed oil on the floor of my enclosed trailer, or the concrete floor in the garage, or oil in the sled or in the tunnel if it had leaked all the oil out. 12 oz.

So not happy right now.

Is the Dealer going to pay for a set of gears and a chain?

WOW!

That sucks, whomever checked off the PDI sheet should be fired on that one.

The blue color of the bottom gear kinda looks like its a custom anodized performance part.

I wouldn't be happy either.

dealer went through all of polaris requirments but no fix.
i for one dont believe they really checked the drivers.

anyone go the numbers for the pos of the drivers? or fixed this problem?

Saw this happen with a brand new sled a few years back and the culprit was a loose and by then missing drain plug on a new machine that fell out on the first ride--- dealer stood behind it and replaced all parts. Good dealers are mostly here when you need them!! and they could not have caught this problem on the PDI.
