Rain or Snow

Rain or snow, I am going riding this weekend! I didn't buy a $12,000 machine to let it sit in the garage when I only get to use it 5 months out of the year....

Went riding up in logan canyon today. (the sinks I believe is where we were) On and off wet snow all day, but I'll take it. The weather was pretty fair mike:)

Think Im am going to hold out for a few weeks let the knee heal up and the snow fall big. Im doing a one legged dance for snow.

Not much of a dancer but lastnight had me and my 2 dogs out in the backyard at midnight doin the big snow shuffle, with me it kind of looks more like the truffle shuffle :D If it worked though I'll become the worlds greatest dancing machine;) Here to all of you lucky enough to get out this weekend:beer;:beer;:beer;

Everything from midway over to Alta was rain until you hit about 8900ft and then it was very very wet snow. They definitely have some fresh out there but it is the wettest heaviest snow you have ever seen...and this coming from a guy from New Hampshire lol...

Its full on raining at @8500' snowing above that, sorta the pow is HEAVY. Wear your slicker! Fun though Boss Hatch CC Tim Jon and Kevco had fun in area 51;)

Top of AF Canyon/Backside of Alta was silly. Easily 18 inches when we got there and covered our tracks before we left. Quit dumping for like ten mins all day. Wettest we have ever been. Took off gore tex black diamond gloves at the truck and literally wrung a half cup of water out of them. Snow down at 8k was like 3 hour old cement but above 9k it was great.

Up at strawberry by the end of the day my jacket weighed about 5 pounds more than normal, my long sleeve shirt under my FXR jacket was completely soaked and it looked like I had really scared myself because it appeared that I had pissed my pants.

Anyway...I guess waterproofing only goes so far and riding through the heavy wet snow that was on the verge of being rain all day was just too much. At least it was warm out, so we were just wet, not cold and wet.

went up wolf creek today, rain down low but once you got up high above 8500 feet it had anywhere from 4-10" of powder and it snowed all day. It was actually a really good day of riding.

Rode mirror lake, that snotel up there is broken b/c they claimed 8" but it was actually 20-30" up there, it was off the hook deep. I am not sure why everyone cries about rain in the valley, it always pounds the mtns with snow when it is raining like this in the valley, take what you can get, sorry for all those who stayed home this weekend b/c of rain in the valley:rolleyes:

#1 Elevation ALWAYS wins;)

Trial Lake is reporting about 14" more since the 22nd. I never believe the Trial Lake snotel anyway. It says a foot and it seems like 2. I can about imagine what it was like today. All my buddies didn't want to go for some reason so I sat at home and watched sled **** all day.....sucks...
