My Cat disc brake and belt lower gear hang way down and there’s aftermarket guards for it. Maybe a call to one of these fabbers would be a worthy call.

I just found this tonight. 23 boost with 6 hours. No space between the belt and bottom plastic. Ripped through. So frustrated.

Its maddening, but it is no secret that it hangs low and clearly you hit something. I would maybe take a look at the bottom pulley for hair line cracks.
