Quick Straps?

I've got 2 old helmets that are retired that have the original QS mounts on them through countless use. Then I put a set of mounts on my new Klim helmet this year and they didn't make it a day. Good thing I had a backup plan.

maybe there is something with the adheisive, different???

IDK I'm just liking the strap thing mainly because I can fog a pair of goggles faster than anyone I've met and I go through about 4 a day normally. Better now that I have a Klim helmet that keeps my nugget cool but still go through 2 pairs most days.

I always carry a pair of goggles with traditional straps just in case. Never had a quick strap mount fail me yet, but I've lent the other ones out a few times.

I have had the same set of Quick Straps for 4 years and the velcro pad and fastner peg (on the other side of the helmet) have held up fine. As others have suggested use rubbing alcohol to clean the helmet before applying the adhesive pads. Also use some common sense when removing the goggles from the helmet. JDon't just yank away. Use your thumb to help support the fastener. I also carry a spare set of fastners with me just in case, but I have never needed them. Everyone in our group rides with them and the only guy that has ever had problems with the adhesive pads has a helmet with a rough matte finish.

Clean the area well, make sure the helmet is warm, and do a little triming of the slot that goes over the peg. The only peg I've seen come off the helmet was from a guy trying to unsnap the googles off the helmet. They snap on very hard and when it is cold out it is hard to hold it tight enough with your thumb as you try to push the slot off. I trim the slot, just a little, and it is easy to get them off and have never had a problem with them inavertanly coming loose.

I tried them twice and they let me down both times. The peg side came un stuck from the helmet and ruined the day on two rides. Once that happens there useless. I always wear thin gloves and have no problems with the traditional strap.

I've been using Quik Straps since they first came out and have never had a problem with them. I've transferred one set to 3 different helmets. As mentioned here about the one of the pads coming un-stuck, no they are not "useless" when this happens. When I transferred a pair from one helmet to another the peg side initially didn't want to stay put. Took the pad, traced around it on some 2 sided carpet tape and stuck it on that way. Three years now it has stayed exactly where I stuck it. :beer;

Put me down in the hate them column.

I tried them for a couple years, but couldn't get them to seal on my face properly. It takes 2 extra seconds to pop the full strap gogs on and off.

HATE them! :) Never had the mount come off but just hard to get them sealed up good. plus they hang off the side of your helmet and get snow in them all the time.

As you can see, many people love them BUT there not for everyone :) Eric

I talked to Tom's partner (forgot his name -sorry) at the 509 booth at Haydays and he was saying the magnet setup for the goggles wasn't out yet - but soon. Tom, do you know when they are ready to sell - I'd like to try the magnet setup out this year.
Thanks!

My dad and I both ride with them, and my peg kept falling off so finally we just decided to buy some industrial velcro for it and stuck it onto the helmet and the peg. It solved that problem lol
