quick question about 08 venture

the father is looking at buying a venture two passenger, but it sounds like it has the 80 horse. I told him I thought it would be under powered since most of his riding would be two passenger and pulling an ice hut from time to time. am i right on that or would it be ok. and how are their reliability?

I think it would be underpowered for his purpose. I don't have first hand experience with the Venture but the Phazer motor is bulletproof. It would probably do the trick but you'd be running it hard most times especially if you get some kids behind the handlebars.

How big is the ice shack he wants to pull? If its just a regular fishing shack, and reasonably light, the venture should pull it no problem. Two people will just give him more traction.

If the '08 has the same 983cc that our 06 Venture has, then you'll have plenty of power. It hauls two riders well, and is very comfortable. Our last ride was 85 miles and went over six Colorado mountain passes. No sled expert here, but the yamaha touring sleds seem very reliable, guy in Maine under Hondo name on the totally 4 stroke forum has 26,000 miles on his '05.
