Question For Those with Gill Vents

Can't decide whether to get the gills or a set of 2cools. How is everyone that has the gills liking them? I heard from a few that they get plugged up with snow? I can't really see them getting that plugged myself but i thought i'd get some others opinions.

Only been out a couple of times with mine. They have yet to get plugged up though. I don't see that happening unless you are going in reverse through the deep stuff.

Here's what mine looked like on a good day. Most of the time they were plugged solid. Once plugged they are very difficult to clean out and end up plugging again very quickly. I drilled as many 2" holes in the panel as I could but never had the panel cut out completely. If I remember correctly, the instructions advised against it. My dealer, who recommended them in the first place, thought that might help but I elected to go back to battle tested 2cool vents instead. Yes, they will ice up too but not nearly as quickly and when it does accummulate, a quick tap and off it comes.

I could contest to this. On a deep pow day my new M looks alot like your pics. Ice chunks seem to form and have to be picked out on occasion. Other than that seem to work great, no major heat issues

Same as mine i hate them vents waste of money

2cools rock...

I was on the fence between the 2. Used my better judgment and got the 2cools and love em:D

My vote goes to the Gill Vents, I don't have any heat problems with them, I ride in the deep all the time. Also if you ride in the trees like me, you don't need to worry about jamming a stick through them

Yeah thats the main reason i was thinking about going for the gills... for the durability. The price is a bit steep but if i don't have to replace them ever thats good in my books

we have 3 sleds with them and no problems a little plugging but never solid
we do a lot of riding in the trees these are the only ones that have not ripped
and needed replacing. nothing but gills all the way!!!
