Question for Canadians, cheapest way to ship stuff to the USA

Friend in BC is having a hard time, whenever he tries to sell something on EBay or Craigslist the shipping is so high no one wants to buy. He said it's less to ship to Brazil than to the US. Is he right or just stupid? Looking for suggestions, he doesn't live close enough to drive across the border and then ship.

The shipping between the US and CAD is nuts!!!

I had a tunnel extension that a guy on here wanted. I told him he could have it just pay the the shipping. I boxed it up took it to UPS and USPS and just about fell on the floor when they told me the shipping cost. It was almost $200 to ship this damn thing to him in CAD.

A deal final worked, he was coming to the states to visit some friends in northern idaho. I shipped it to his friends house for $14.00.

Totally messed up!
