quading at greenwater?

X2.
Evans creek is a great place for family. At least it was when I used to 4X4 back in the day!
When you get all dusty and hot you can hop in the car and head up to Mowich Lake for a cold dip.
One of the prettiest lakes in the state.

that was my first thought. but last time up there i had a BAD experiance people partying with no respect drunk, loud, fighting would not stay out of my camp. the worst was i was there with 4 teenage girls and one 11yr. old and me. 13 of them and they all wanted to fight and this was the first time i never brought a gun. alot more to it than that but it was bad.

That's a common problem anywhere you go these days ... friggin' inbred trash ruining it for the good people who are out to enjoy the outdoors respectfully. And people wonder why I pack when I'm in the woods?

You can quad up at Greenwater/Naches area but you have to stick to the 4WD trails ... if you get caught on the FS roads there'll be hell to pay. There's a ton of places to camp and ride on the other side though ... Little Naches area.

the nachess trail is great for quads

You can legaly run the nachess trail all the over to the nachess side . Great trails, and some spur roads off the 19 (paved) road when you get to the other side, it's good for a day ride, some history up there too

There is a new state law that makes it illegal to ride 4 wheel motorcycles, or snowmobiles on the side of the cascades you do not live on.

Naches trail is the only place to legally ride in the greenwater area that I know of. If your going that way you'll want to wait as the west side of the trail does not open untill the 19 of July. Evans creek is cool but I would never stay in that campground, just too much drama, plus its only 45 minutes to go home.

Naches always opens on the 15th of July ... why the delay until the 19th this year??? I find no info to corroborate this statement?

Ya - would love to quad at GW - but you are so limited. Trailer to the Naches Trail I guess. Makes no sense , more freedom when you get on the other side of the mountains. We go over to Conconully, outside of Omak and you can ride everywhere - including the paved roads right into Conc. Go to Montana and you can ride wherever you please. Driving thru Billings and quads are pulling up beside you - crazy!!

I can't remember for sure but I thought it used to open up on June 15 and closes November 15. Anyways it is still closed due to trail maintainence but the closure is just on the west side like usual. It could remain closed a little longer, all I'm saying is check before ya go so you don't get disapointed.

You might also consider going to Straddleline ORV park out west of Olympia. Two fun and easy MX tracks, miles of trails within the park, and access to hundreds of miles of trails in Capital Forest. Its a good place to take the kiddos to ride IMO.

I have taken my 8yo daughter down to straddleline the last two Sundays (all the way from North Bend) it's a great place to take the kiddo's!

And... not to become another Snowhawkaddict...
Why would anyone ride a quad??? Motorcycles kick a$$!!

Moon...you are such a racist!! The quads were awesome, racing at Straddeline this weekend for some sort of western national....

It is a great place to take the kids, good camping spots and tons of riding to be had.....on a stupid note. Thurston county put a stop use order on Grays harbor county for the second mx track...something about no permit to grade dirt or cut some trees....so the second track was closed....

Nachees Trails East of the cabin should have opened Saturday afternoon. A bridge was being worked on.

Kids and the Nachees would not be my first choice. For a less experienced person, there are some tough spots and lots of Jeeps were there this weekend.

the naches trail is fun,but it sure sucks when you are blazin up a fun spot and come head on with a jeep going down.I have hit the bushes real quick more than once.
Moonman, people ride quads because they need the extra two wheels(training wheels)j/k

Isn't it expensive to ride / camp there ? We checked a few years ago and there was a charge per bike-quad / per day. Don't remember what the camping was per night. We go a little farther up the road to Porter Creek. Free camping and access to all of the trails / roads in Capitol Forest. Seen some pretty shady characters up there at times though

It's a good deal... 15 a day per rider/ 15 a night for camping
