Puyallup EXPO- final thoughts

I spoke to a WSSA rep late in the day on Sunday and he said attendance was only down about 10% on Sat and probably a little more on Sunday.

IMO the difference this year was twofold...there wasn't the initial onslaught like last year (it seemed more steady all day) so it never had that crowded feeling...and the layout was better, seemed to be more walking room everywhere.

I had a good time, spent some cash.

Felt bigger than last year to me but I think I went at THE most popular time. around 11:30 saturday.

Wish I could have gone both days and had a bigger budget. :D

Better ride while ya can...lol..:face-icon-small-dis

No, everybody needs to get out and VOTE!!

I go to about every show in the West and let me tell you Puyallup is still #1....BY FAR. Even Hay Days that has 4x the attendance, doesn't stack up. Saturday was busy the entire day. Sunday was slower, but still good. Overall very satisfied. Only change would be allowing vendors to drive in the venue and unload.

Big thanks to everybody who stopped by the 509 booth and thanks to everybody who helped setup. Especially big thanks to Corey for helping all weekend!!

I thought the the show was great! I have to agree about some of the sleds being over priced. Guys want to complain about people not showing up and not buying sleds. It go's both ways times are hard and people are looking for a deal not to be ripped off. It dosnt take a rocket scientist to tell that a sled is overly priced! i thought the vendors had some good stuff and great prices! cant wait for snow now.

Very well said. Even the "deals" didn't move or at least mine didn't. I had a super clean stock 02 ZX for $3k OBO and didn't even get a call.

Does anybody know the attendance numbers for both days? I think it very similar to last year for the Saturday but Sunday was brutally slow compared to previous years. Sunday still had more people than we see all weekend at the BC show.

Actually, Sunday was WWAAYYY better than last year - last year there was a game in town and it was crickets all day on sunday. It helps a ton when the games are out of town.

Like Brent said - Last year on Saturday, we had so many people packed into our space we couldn't move - this year it was steady all day until about 4 - could have shut down and played after that. Sunday was a steady trickle also.

For us, it was a great show! Sure, we sold some stuff, but it's getting to finally see a LOT of our winter-time friends and the hugs and the fun..........that's what the Puyallup show gives us back.

I think there are a LOT of Thanks needed:
  • to WSSA for the great job they do every year!
  • to our customers and all who stopped by the booth - you are why we are there!
  • to Brent and Brandy for their AMAZING job at the Friday night event!
  • to everyone who donated to SAWS to help keep those areas open that we all love so much!

Puyallup is the best show we attend all year for all of these reasons. I almost can't wait till next year! (my liver just screamed!)

Oh - I forgot one - Thanks to Messenbrink for touching himself! Funniest thing I get to see every year!!!!! :eek::beer;

:) 2fun

Great Show!

Yeppers,

It's official....I think i wore out my shoes...must have done about 20 laps around the whole thing outside........and when it open'd...well lets just say i had tired feet!!! Had a great time!! I wish spokane's would get that big!! maybe in time...

My first time going to a snow show and it was great! Awesome to think that everyone that was there is a snowmobiler:eek:

Met a lot of SW forum members, Tsnow, 900 RMK 166, Bigdawg, Tedd, Phatty, and so many more I can't even remember them all:eek::o

Anyhow, I thought it was a good show and I'm definitely gonna plan on returning next year:D:face-icon-small-coo

I thought the show was great! Got some killer deals and even walked out with a free sled. 97 rmk with a 580 cat, slp skis, new 144 track, and some other goodies. The best new... it started the second pull! :)
cant beat free :beer;

The thing that needs to be improved are the seminars. One that I went to only had 2 people at it. They need to move these out to the middle of the show floor. Other than that I had a great time. Didn't see any carbon fiber stuff or super chargers. Guess these have gone the way of the dodo bird.

I gotta say whitefish is a bada$$ and his ice scratchers are amazing!!! Oh thanks for coming over whitefish friday was great you can hang with the best of them!!!!

I sold all my extra parts. Paid for all the stuff I bought and the booths.

Worked good for me--But numbers were down obviously and the buying was very eratic for sure.

Always a good time!!

H20SKE...

Saw old freinds and made new ones--great to see some new volenteers helping in the SAWS booth---To bad ole Yammdog and Ruffy beat them!!
But we still appreciatte all your help and then some!!

What about some grass drags next year? I think that would be awsome, and I think alot of people would enter. It might also draw more people to check out our sport in the area.

Great show

The show was a little slow but considering the economy at present not too bad. It was nice being able to walk through everything without being crowded out of spots. Great seeing a bunch of people again and watching Moonman do his moonwalk or whatever he would call that:face-icon-small-dis
H2NOSKE thanks for the food and hope your boys had a great weekend.
yammadogdoo, ruffy, icecap, moonman, goodtogo and mob thanks for letting me hang out in the motor home until MOB or whoever made it unlivable after their beans or whatever kicked in:eek:
Wimpy give me a call I may have found you a sled.

Speaking of grass drags... who was it that was ripping out back Saturday night and wiped out in the gravel. Looked bad from my point of view.

Are you referring to... 1, 2, 3, :beer; ?

I believe 1200cc was reffering to the breathalizer:eek:. Thanks for the info on the first generation scratchers. Still trying to find my old set.
Hope to see you up on the hill sometime. Try to come up to the Baker shoot out if you can. Should be in early April. Hope to get a bunch of vendors up there this year.
