Pulling engine, have some questions

Your last pic is a little deceiving because ti shows the oil reservoir 180 degrees out. Back to the current topic, the line in your last pic goes between the mag and pto jugs and connects to a brass fitting that feeds oil to the shaft the drives the oil pump and water pump.

I read back through a few previous posts and I think I may have misled you with my last post. On my '06, the line that is about half way up the reservoir is the one that goes between the cylinders and connects to the brass fitting to gravity-feed oil to the oil pump/ water pump drive shaft. The line closest to the bottom of the reservoir is the supply line directly to the oil pump. This line also should have a small inline filter in it close to the reservoir. The line routes behind the engine and around the PTO cylinder, then down to the oil pump.
