ProRmk buying advice please

Used works for me

I'll side with mtncat1 on this one. Ideal scenario would be sell your sled and buy one from a private party. As you know living in MN you have to pay sales tax at the dealer but not from a private party. November 2010 I bought, off the show room floor, a pro rmk 155" for aprox $11,600. Which included tax, license, fees, trail permit, etc. One year warranty, no miles. This fall I bought a pro rmk 163" with three years left on the warranty. Has 500 miles. A Polaris skid plate, and two years left on the license and trail permit. $9,000. So now I have a 155" with 1100 miles and no warranty and a 163" with 500 miles and a three year warranty for $2600 less than the 155". Now my question is now that your buying a Polaris are you allowed in Thief River Falls or do you have to move to Roseau. All you 2011 pro rmk owners check your rear bumper. If you take it off you will find that the graphite and rivets are getting sloppy. I showed my dealer and he said Polaris won't cover it. I guess their bumper to bumper warranty doesn't include the bumper! And there are updates on the 2011 pro's. I believe they came out in July.

Adendum for Used works for me.

I forgot to mention that you have to remove the rear bumper to see if it is sloppy. You can't tell if it's still bolted on the tunnel.

Its all about budget and what you can afford man. It sounds like going used would help relieve some financial strain so if you can get a killer deal selling your HCR and buying used with warranty I say go for it.

Was going to ask about the sales tax where you are at. In Washington it is almost 10%. Makes trading in much easier, man I hate trying to sell anything like cars, sleds etc. I would definitely buy or get the dealer to throw in an extra year of warranty. $250 won't go very far on any kind of repair these days.

Theres really no difference between the 2011 and 2012 models. If you trust the source buy used and save yourself some dough.

you won,t be sorry mine would handlely beat my 1000 plus much lighter ,easier steering ,better belt lifebetter fuel economy.etc:face-icon-small-hap

I would go 2012

additional traction on boards
updated motor mounts
updated rails/no angle in rear on 163
cleaner wiring harness/additional rub covers
No worry's of oil line issues/starvation fixed or not..
Better resale

Get them to extend the 2012 warranty to 3/4 years. It cost the dealer very little..That would be my .02

Goodluck either way!
