Should I buy a holdover 2012 Pro or Snowcheck a 2013

i paid 11,200 for my 12 in november, 12k for a left over is not a deal.

I didn't say it was GOOD deal! :face-icon-small-win ha ha, it was just the best i could find recently. We'll see what happens. I'll scoop a 12 if 13 isn't changed enough. Until then, i'm gonna way.

In the meantime - WOOT WOOT, it is snowing like CRAZY. should have about 6ft of new by the time this storm cycle lets up. Insane! :face-icon-small-ton

Mrquick, years ago you and seeyacop? helped me with my m7 to m8 twin pipe big bore. I have a 2011 and 2012 pro 155". I will share all the info I can with you. I have all the clutching set-ups MDS, MTX, and team tied.
Also have a 09xp, I really like the pro "lite" handling over the xp.
Thanks the m8 worked perfect!

ha buddy, i remember! Seeyacop and i still ride together every weekend. Glad we got your big bore straightened away back in the day. :) thanks for the shout out.

I'll be on here soon enough with either a new sled or news of a snowcheck. :face-icon-small-hap

My friend on the inside told me I would be wishing I had waited til next year to buy my Polaris!!! Unfortunately he can't disclose what changes are coming but he strongly hinted some pretty big changes. For me tho a year of lost riding even a bad year would never be worth waiting. I would buy now & take the loss to buy again this time next year if I had to upgrade. The only real advantages of snowchecking are you get the sled early & usually slightly lower price. By waiting til this point in the year you are going to get the same basic prices & probably didnt care much about getting the sled early.

jakey-boy, i hope you are right, cause that would be fun to get some nice updates to an already awesome sled, but I've also heard rumors like this a ton of times just to get receive BNG's! I'd be happy with class matching HP numbers and nothing else changed, and oh, that 4 year warranty.

Polaris has a $500 off '12 model year deal running this month. Just got a email about it.

Just a heads up, but for me at this point, id wait and see what '13 has to offer and snowcheck.

When can we expect to see what the 13's have to offer? Mid Feb im guessing????

I think it is up to how much your dealer wants to make the sale and how much they will shave off of their profit margin. I snowchecked my 2012 Pro RMK 163 base price was $10,800 which included the 4 year warranty. I also ordered accessories gas rack, snowcheck nylon cover, underseat bag and handle bar bag. With tax and license out the door cost was $12,400. I have read that some were able to get the base price as low as 10,200 but then paid $450 for the 4 year warranty. So deals are out there with the snowcheck programs. Will be nice to see what incentives will be offered for 2013.

2012 Polaris vs 2013

The 2013 Polaris 800 Pro-RMK's will have major improvements. (maybe 20 lbs lighter and 10 - 15 more horse power. But, with low snowfall this year, the 2012's are available with huge rebates to dealers.

The 2012 800 Pro RMK will be about $2,000 less expensive than the 2013 on snowcheck, but the 2013 may actually be worth $2k more. Check out the 2013 Polaris predictions at www.sledrumors.com.

if the 13 comes w/ belt drive and more HP... i'd definitely go with the 12.

:P

no, seriously.

pol really doesn't need to add belt drive problems into their already abundant engine issues..and more HP will not help either of the latter.

the running board change looks great on the 13 however.

abundant engine issues? uhmm since when? you need a new form of info..yours isnt very good..

IMO, If you have ever popped an engine and the piston got chewed up and blown out the bottom of the block it costs a lot of fun tickets! I have a snow check 12 with a 4 yr warranty. I would go with the 13 with the 4 yr! The grand you save buying a 12 wont make up if the engine goes in 3 yrs when your 2 yr warranty is long gone. Trust me on that. I had a Dragon. And by the way I love my Pro!

hehe you guys (kids?) negative feedbacking my comments because i'm a straight shooter is amusing.

i actually do still love my pro. great chassis, and even the engine works very well...when its not breaking pistons or stickin bearings, etc its still the funnest sled i've ever ridden.

just pointing out that it does have issues.. at least 1 topic per page should show that for the last season. be oblivious if you wish, but that doesn't fix the problem. i'd rather have a better product and make the problems apparent than be blindly loyal.
but, i know every camp has plenty of those. like dealing w/ a bunch of teenagers when you start talking about a specific manufactures issues round here, even if you use and enjoy that manufactures product.

On topic: get the one with the longest warranty is probably the best option. i'm ready to upgrade to another Pro just to keep a warranty on the engine...

I agree they all have issues..which issue bugs you the least is what it amounts too...but with that said, on the pro, IF you turn the oiler up to 40 to 1 at full throttle running, keep the clutching set to pull a max of 8100 on the memory(not the guage), and keep it sealed good so its not injesting snow, and run good fuel..most likely this motor will live to a ripe old age.....

Not sure where you guys are getting prices from but I just talked with a local dealer, under 9k for non-pro and under 10k for the pro-rmk 155.

Also, you can get an extended factory warranty, 4 yr, for an extra 600.00. that warranty is on top of the 1yr, so you get a 5 yr warranty for 600.

Me I am going to buy the discounted 2012 and opt for the ext warranty.
