skidoo build the xp on the same centers as yamaha so they could run the 8dn belt.

Actually, that's a great idea!
Let's take it one step further......
Manufactures uniting with acceptance of common measurements on things like drive belts.
That's right, one belt size for every sled.
They did it for tracks (121"), why not belts?
Then it would be economically feasible to offer belt options with different characteristics......
hardness, slipage, wear, heat resistance etc
