Probable new Washington state record non-typical bull killed

the fella that spent $65k for them antlers will not be eating any of the meat, highly likely...:face-icon-small-dis

and there is many more Hi-Fence killers like him standing in line!

The bull was not killed on a high fenced ranch, none of the bulls i refer to are, as thats just not hunting. The conservation tag allows him to hunt state wide and in basically any unit with extended dates. Ridiculous amount of money but if you were a multi millionair would you rather donate 70 grand to some organization, or 70 grand to help conserve elk and elk land, and get to shoot a bull of a lifetime in return? I know if i had a couple million, i would buy a San Juan or Pavhant conservation tag every year (50 thousand, only can hunt the one unit with regular hunt dates), see how many 400 bulls i could kill in my life:D

that is one humongous Bull, no way in hell its 420 class more like 480+
a Bull ofthat caliber is usually a Hi-Fence unless your talking Utah NM AZ or even parts of MTorCO-WY

here is my 393" gross & that other Bull taken is at least 100" Bigger!

It's a big bull, no doubt! I have no respect for the guy that pulled the trigger though! What he did was unethical and not even closely related to hunting! Come on, he hired guides to watch the bull while he sat in a plush office waiting for the phone call. That is not hunting and it certainly took zero skill. Any one of us could have made that kill if we had paid that much money to the guide! He probably didn't even get any blood on himself. He deserves no respect at all.

A 502 gross bull (probably gonna end up around 488 net) was killed in Utah on the Monroe unit 2 days ago, unofficially the new world record. If any of you have seen pictures of the "Spider Bull", that is the bull i'm refering to, anyways talked to one of the guides who helped with this hunt and he said they killed it 9 miles away from where we watched it this summer.. You can see velvet pictures of this bull at www.mossback.com but the hard horned on the ground pictures won't be posted on the site till late tonight or tomorrow. Utah has absolutly crushed the record books the last 5 years...

That's too bad! I was hoping to see him stay alive, but what can you expect when film of him was plastered all over the NET. Every hunter that could draw a tag was after that bull. He didn't stand much of a chance.

I love hunting but it's sad to see something that rare and amazing go down.

To me, ( cheap a$$ who will never pay a guide to hunt for me) this guy did nothing different than anyone else who hires a guide. Most big bulls were found/scouted by others. I know of several bulls shot when I was in UT that were found by getting inside information from the sheephearders in the area. Some only cost a fifth or maybe a couple of cases.:D

yup, agreed! If I had money to spend like this, I'd certainly be taking months off scouting and prepping. Not only I'd be earning the respect of "myself" but I'd be enjoying the hunt for this once in a lifetime deal. For this guy, its probable no big deal ... next year he'll just pay another 20K for some guided farm hunt.:face-icon-small-dis

Ditto.

I do hunt with guides and spotters. I work 80 hours a week running my own business. My clients depend on me. I do my best for them. It is difficult to have enough time to scout and prepare for the hunt. That's where the guides and spotters come in handily for busy people like me who love to hunt. When I am retired or bankrupt, I would do the scouting on public land by myself. Please have some respect for busy people who are taking care of their employees and clients.

I'm more of the "if it's brown it's down" school of hunting. Cheap and easy. Course I'm a freezer hunter not a horn guy. All though i did once get help from my dad dragging a deer in:o
