Pro Vs. Summit

Jesus Christ, really? This has got to be the most useless topic to discuss.....period....the end. "My diehard ski doo buddy changed his mind!!!!" Well your buddy just might be the end all be all of everything in your world. Congrats on your man crush! lol ;) I personally like all three mountain 800 sleds and can ride them equally as good as one another. Good thing I'm not the end all be all of your world because you would end up buying two more sleds lol. That and I'm not really into dudes looking up at me all starry eyed and following my every decision. lol

Wow there goes this thread, having some good discusion and then this bomb.

wtf.....

Are we so insecure of our purchase? Or are we so insecure of ourselves? If you love your sled..ride it and love it. I have rode them all, Polaris, skidoo, Arctic cat and and few Yamaha's. Why is this thread so stupid? People are so concerned that they have the best sled ie.. Chris says this or Chris rides this. Really are we that insecure and do we have the need to argue about what's better today, tmro?? Ride as much as you can with what ya got. Tune to your potential, have fun and remember your mistakes. Enough said guys!

For a pure mountain sled, the Pro is light years ahead of Skidoo...period.
Just look at the chassis, the skidoo looks like a pregnant manatee, while the Pro is lean, mean and refined.
We went with 2 new skidoo's the other day & I drove both of them, I couldn't wait to give them back. Everything about the skidoo feels wrong after you ride the pro, "awkward" is the best way to describe the skidoo. The skidoo feels like it has 2 tons of bricks between the skis, side hills like crap & when you get it stuck..wholly crap, it takes 3 men and a donkey to pull one out! As far as power, maybe it does have more....but you cant tell because it does so much less. The polaris pro currently has no equal and totally dominates the skidoo in all aspects of mountain riding.

The truth is that both are really good mountain sleds. If you spend the majority of your time rubbing bark off of trees with your skis sidehilling the steep stuff and breaking branches off with your face you would probably prefer the PRO. For all the other stuff the XM is equal or maybe even a bit better. The competition between these 2 companies should bring us some very awesome sleds to ride over the next few years and this benefits us all!

"And my dad can beat up your dad" Sounds like grade school recess stuff. One thing that has not even been touched is the dealer. That makes a huge difference if you have fairly equal machinery. How well your dealer takes care of you is very important. Both the XM and Pro are very capable machines. My personal preference is the XM because the ergonomics are better for me. My son rides a 2012 Pro and he loves it and doesn't like my XM as well. Everyone has their own opinions and nobody is wrong, just different. With the machines that are offered now, we the riders are the ones who will benefit because there is more competition between manufacturers forcing them to keep improving. Enjoy the sled you have now while there is still snow because unfortunately, summer is coming.

I have the brand loyal doo glasses in stock, with the new t-motion nose piece, they are effortlessly flickable. PM me for the best price.

Do they catch on fire? Sorry, couldn't resist. I guess in all fairness you could ask if the Poo version has enough glue.

I tried out a 13 XM 146 and I thought it laid over just as easy as my Pro.Felt light and seemed to really get on top of snow well.Skis seemed to dive a little more and I don't think I could control the Xm as well as mine(that could be more to do with getting used to sled than anything). It was nothing like Xp's I've tried(which I can't stand to ride anywhere other than trail).I really liked how quiet the Etec is but wondered how it could be 160+hp and Pros 150 minus hp.Overall I really liked the sled and wouldn't mind having one of them too.

I really like the XM, but I bought a Pro. I have no complaints about this machine. It fits my riding style perfectly. If I had the Doo it would probably fit my riding style to because it would be mine. And I dont have the funds to buy a new sled every year.

IMHO the problem with these type threads is the guys that slam the other brand and basically call it junk. It happens time and time again, they are both sweet sleds. I just like mine better because it is mine and it is also a sweet sled.

quick question, how do you guys find any time to ride when it seems all your ever doin is standing in a circle strokin each others peepees?

it really does sound like a bunch of kids in here. you like your pro, we get it, why does it matter so much to you that someone might like something different. are you that insecure? they all have there UPS and downs

Wow, I wonder why anyone would ever buy a Skidoo.

Because they might get to ride it during the winter. I own a 2012 SBA and I would love to have a Summit XM right now, I've been 29 days without a sled due to the POlariS 'bog'.

I'll admit I haven't rode anything yet that compares to my sled for ease of riding but thats only good when you actually get to ride it.

Then get out out of the Pro section and go into the other brands forum if you dont like it when Pro owners are discussing thier sleds. Maybe a sled forum is not your place if your into watching peepee stroking.

so what your sayin is you want some privacy whilest you got your buddies johnsonsin your hands?

so i don't have the right to browse forums of other brands to keep up on what's going on in the industry? there's nothing wrong with comparing brands and even some smack talking, but It's just funny how serious you pro riders take all this stuff. if somebody says something negative about the pro some of ya act like the guys tryin ta bang your ol' lady.

I started riding my sleds like that. A good ride might be 25 miles in 5 or 6 hrs lol. Many times the only way back was exactly the way I went in.
Some friends started joining (many never returned lol) and I remember lot`s of times 3 or 4 of us stuck bad within eyesight, helmets off, jackets open and enough steam rising to start a spring melt lol.

And I thought I was the only one...
