Hey guys. I know this topic has been talked about. I am looking to order a tether for my 2013. Which ones have you guys used? Thanks for the help.

Polaris part #2870668,worked on my 2011.Should work on 2013's also.

Plug and play no cutting wires.

WPS/Western Power Sports also makes a tether that doesn't require cutting wires if Polaris is back ordered.

Polaris, took the one off my 11 and it plugged right into my 13. Has worked great for two years, expect it will work great for years to come.

I used the polaris tether and mounted in the center console. Works great as others have mentioned. But the one thing that always bugged me with tethers was putting it on and taking off was always a hassle with that tight clasp. Well what I did was purchase these cheap elastic velcro wrist straps. They will allow the tether to be put on and off very easily and adjustable to go over anyone's coat sleeve. Here is a link to where I bought them a few pics:

Wrist straps look good die hard, I agree the hooks that come with the poo tether is difficult to get along with.

I took the cheesy hook off and replaced it with a carabiner. I can hook/unhook the carabiner easily with gloves on.

Pingle

My Polaris tether kept freezing up and eventually stopped working all together so I spent a few more bucks and put on a nice handle bar mount Pingle. Much higher quality and put a couple blade connectors on it its "plug and play" as well. I run the cord with a small accessory carabiner to the crotch strap from my avi pack keeping it out of the way and off my wrist. Now I just need to find something to plug the hole I drilled in my console for the Polaris tether.

We've seen MANY of the stock Polaris tethers fail...they freeze up...the rubber plunger gets soft/wears out...and they fill with snow easily.

We have been using this tether for several years now:

Thanks for adding this. I have the factory one being put on my sled, but it is nice to know where to go if it fails. I was wondering about the same thing with the rubber end. I have buddies that have Skidoo and have seen them blowing in the end to get the snow out. I will give the factory one a try and see what happens.

I've personally never had an issue with a tether but then again I unclip from my jacket vs pulling it off the base.

Does the other one you listed come with plug and play ends?

4010849 polaris part number. This is the one that is like $5 more than the 2870668.

Haven not installed it yet and will let you know how it goes. apparently its plug and play.

I have been riding ski don't for years and always had the luxury of the DESS which was a key and tether in one. When I got the pro I was like, " where the tether at?"

i put on the polaris tether and had nothing but bad luck with it. i will be putting a new pro design on in a couple of weeks.

Hummmm, we have never had an issue with the Poo tether, they have always worked very well. (and I've used mine a few times :face-icon-small-con)
BUT, we don't use them as an off switch either. I unhook from it when getting off the sled. (and remembering . . . .)

I mounted ours with this niffty mountplate from Lone Wolf Mfg, which I really like, no holes in the sled, centered location and super simple/durable.

Where did you get those handlebar ends? they look like they're just a flat plug type? I can't get used to the hooks.

Pro Design on the left side of the bars. They are my favorite, and have never failed me.

something to note about the polaris OEM tether cord kit.

I have been having trouble with mine freezing up. So when I pull the cord the button stays down allowing the sled to run. This seem to happen in cold temps and lots of snow
