Pro RMK sway bar

Has anyone disconnected their sway bar and then tried their Pro RMK on powder? Just wondering if it would improve deep snow handling like it does on the Rev XP.

I took mine off and think it is way better for boondocking and deep snow riding. It leans over easy on the road and dont handle as good on the trail but I could care less about trail handling.

Garbage!

I tried riding my Dragon with it in, removed it and never looked back. Picked up my Pro RMK last Friday and removed it right away.

Lano

I removed mine also on my Pro RMK. Had to tighten front springs all the way so it wouldn't dive as bad when you turn. The ride is way smoother when you land akward and easier to tip, it was good before now it's great. Trying to order stiffer front springs as I'm out of adjustment, dealer will get back to me. I will post a part # if we can find a stiffer spring.

I am sourcing parts for making quick disconnect kits similar to a type made for REV/XP. Should be able to have them in Yellow Zinc Finish and Full Stainless Steel.

Kits will function differently than those for REV/XP, as those had a Ball-Joint Connector at the top and bottom of sway-bar link. Polaris uses a through bolt on the lower connection to utilize both webs of metal. I have not finalized a solution for that connection, as utilizing a through bolt again, would leave a small peice of the assembly danging form the A-Arm while disconnected.

I found that when you remove the sway bar on the Pro Ride it tends to cause the track to wash out alot easier when side hilling. Not sure why, but that seems to be the only real noticable affect. I put my sway bar back in and the wash out stopped. Leaving it in is better for me, but to each his own.

I am having a hard time understanding the sway bar issue. I tried the sway bar out just to try and see what ya'all were talking about. I have NO complaints with the sway bar in and did not think that pulling the sway bar made any real difference. This is the easiest sled to carve, sidehill with the sway bar in. With the sway bar out, it was only a tad bit better but was a biotch riding the trail to get to off trail riding - very tippy. Understand that I have pulled my sway bar out from EVERY sled that I have owned previously, but I am keeping the sway bar in on this sled. JMHO

I'm leaving mine in. If this sled is hard to boondock and sidehill, I'd hate to ride anything else! Just look, lean, and go for me. Love it!

No need to take mine out, it handles great, sidehills, and carves just fine with it in.

My XP was a completely different story, but the Pro does not need the sway bar removed.

You guys leaving them in... are you using the narrow ski stance then?
To be honest with you, I'm disappointed with the handling of the Pro so far - not THAT much better than my Rev Summit (foot steers better but not by much) and certainly doesn't lay over as well as a Cat! My sled was in the center ski position with the bar in. I know I need to crank up the center shock spring tension but I'm thinking I'll be pulling the bar unless the ski stance makes that big of a diff! The sled certainly does get on top of the snow better than the Summits tho. And rider weight, I'm sure, plays a big part in the OP's question too; I'm 175 so I'm thinking bar out for sure!

Have FUN!

Left ski is in the center position,. right ski is in the inside position

I agree 100 percent. I am thinking if you have a tough time laying this sled over you might want to think about a gym membership. I watched a 100 lb girl ride one around like it was made out of balsa wood. Yeah, I know it sounds mean, but I don't know if you could find an easier sled to ride.

How do you have your RTSS set? When I picked mine up the shop and set the spring for me. They guessed 180 I weigh 165. When I rode it, it felt pretty good. Then, I rode my GF Pro and they had set the RTSS preload softer for her lighter weight. When I softened mine up it made the sled so much better for side to side transitions and rolling over. Couldn't believe what a difference the RTSS preload could make.

Skis set left in middle position, right in narrow position.

Currently I have my sway bar out and ski springs set 6 full turns out from all in. I'm pretty happy with it but I need to swap with the GF again and compare swaybar in versus out...same day, same conditions. Verify it's not just placebo effect....

502 miles on the Pro and counting...

I have left mine in and will leave it that way, I weigh 140 with clothes on and this sled is so easy to side hill and throw around. I owned an 07 rev and an 09 XP and there is no comparing of the Doo's to this Polaris. Both Doo's had the sway bar removed and it helped with the problem a little but didn't fix the main issue of wanting to be on both skis at all time

Everytime I get into the trees I am amazed at what this sled can do and how easy it does it. The Doo's would wear me out in 10 minutes where this sled gets on it's side stays there and does it with no effort I get back to the truck after 6hrs or riding and I'm not tired and that never happened riding the Doos.
