As for ring end gap, I would follow what the directions state.

Got my new piston today. Why isn't the skirt coated like the original 2 Kelsey sent me??

don't panic. the pistons no longer come with the coating. don't worry about it. I have installed plenty without the coating. it's not needed.

I like the Boondocker personally. 78 parameters. Easy to adjust and tough. I mounted mine under the hood.
