PRO RMK GAS RACK?

be very careful how much weight you put on your tunnel..... 15lbs maximum....

at an average weight of 6.073 lb/US gallon according to the encylopedia, a two gallon tank doen't leave too much left for other stuff along with a bunch of melted snow on there.

I have the Polaris rack (just like the HRP rack) and gas can that I will sell. I bought a Craigerbuilt and don't use the Polaris one anymore. Make me an offer and I might sell!

Here is what I got....Powderkeg

Has storage and holds 2 gallons of gas

Looks pretty slick... how secure is it , how easy does the can can part undo and deploy when all iced up?

WHAT ARE PEOPLE USING FOR THE PRO GAS RACK/CADDY
VMI rack, you can haul 1,2,3, or 4, 2 gal cans, or 2 cans and shovel, or no cans and a bag, or just shovel, or nothing, or......possibilities are endless and your not commited to one set up. 125$ and mounts in bout 3 min no drilling!! Love Mine, gets lots of people that see mine and go #@$%... wish I would of done that!

I like the craigerbuilt can and bag setup but my can has "sucked" itself in. I haven't figured out how to get it to pop back out.

I just purchased one of these from myself as well. Mounted it the other day. Nice piece. Love it. One handle pull quick release. noting moving around on the tunnel. Nice set-up. Once your can is empty it should pop out with an airhose. Or just fill it and put the cap on. Once the temperature or elevation changes there will be pressure inside that will pop it back out.

Well the season is coming into full swing...and people are gearing up their sleds for use this season.

When placing a load on the rear of your tunnel.. beware of the factory rating or you could have some serious bending issues with your tunnel that will not be covered by Polaris warranty.

The recommended method of loading an RMK is to put all heavy stuff, particularly gas cans, directly behind the seat. Then, if the load still is under the 15lb maximum, the tunnel bag can go behind the gas cans - (a full set of tools in the tunnel bag with 4 waters is a really bad idea). There are already pix of Snowesters placing the bag behind the seat and then hanging gas cans on the end of the tunnel. That is a recipe for an unhappy fa

The tunnel is rated at 15 lbs...

That may seem light.. but when you are pounding down the trail or dropping into a bowl...The G-force can easily make that load very taxing on the tunnel.

If you are carrying a spare gas can on your sled... place it as close to the tunnel as possible as shown in this pic.

DO NOT Carry heavy items like the fuel cans shown in this photo!!:face-icon-small-sho

This photo shows a Heavy Duty tunnel bracing system that AKSNOWRIDER built and installed to shore this up as he carries a lot of extra gear into the backcountry on his tunnel... IMO.. This is NOT overkill if you carry more than the 15lbs rating.

Notice he still "chokes" up on the seat with the fuel load!! :face-icon-small-coo
