Pro Rmk and Assault 2014 Question

is it me or MDS weights are 240$ MTX are 109$, unless MDS are way superior they seem to be very expensive?

You'll change the MTX once and wish you'd gone MDS. IMO they are far superior to MTX, up shift of a drag sled with the back shift of a mountain sled, 5 minute weight swap on the hill. To change MTX you need to carry a rivet tool and they are not that simple to do a quick change on hill for different snow conditions, altitude, etc. Old technology vs new. Do you want to ride a 02' RMK or a 14' RMK? Kind of same thinking, after $12k on a new sled, why not get the most performance you can, especially for $130, that's cheap for 10hp +/- more to the track. Cheapest HP you'll ever buy. Not preaching here, just pointing out a few things you might not have considered. Best of luck to you whatever choice you make.

My dealer doesnt let a sled out the door without being properly set up for elevation...........at no charge.

1. On my 11, stock from the factory in the 800 was 64's for 4-6k.

2. Having a dealer who includes weight changes in their setup before delivery is the mark of a good dealer. It's somewhere in their costs, whether you pay extra or not, but at least they know and they care.

3. My bet would be the OP's dealer is also/primarily a doo dealer - that explains his reaction to the issue - BRP has offered 'low altitude kits' for the summits for decades, varies chassis from chassis, sometimes required a remap, etc. Regardless, this dealer doesn't know poo.
