Pro RMK 2012 Mountain Sled of the Year

So the poo is lighter and has less power, the cat is heavier and makes more power. Right?

What is easier to do, add power or take off weight? Cheaper?

Good question .... Add another one....which would be more reliable when done?

I'd want to carefully consider how each of those choices would affect reliability? Seems to me a guy would be better off taking weight off a sled with a reliable motor than building more power in a motor that may be suspect. JMO

I was thinking the opposite. Taking weight off is hard. Cat already has fox floats right? Won't take it off there. Can, light weight can, light weigh rear skid.

What else is there?

The Pro hasn't had any motor issues. Different motor than was in the dragon. PCV would probably add some real power. Pipe and head, you will be rocking.

I would think to really lighten the new cat, you would be looking at spending some money... frt suspension, rear skid, can, maybe some of the bracing(lighter moly tubing?)..and such...maybe spending as much as 4-6 grand worth...should be able to get it down to 410-420 pds dry?
on the poo, if you really wanted to make it reliable?..how about brads 1100 cc twin?...aprox 225-250 hp stock..then he can also set you up with a turbo if thats not enough.....but I would imagine, all you need would be Brads head, some carls(cycle) , or kurts(fastrax) porting, a single pipe, reeds and a pc-5..(could even opt to install the dragon fix kit pistons just to be safe)..might set you back 2 grand for everything? and be setting at about 175-180 hp.....

Oh yeah, I forgot, carls should have the 900 kit rocking by fall..that should be reliable as well..i would guess 4-5 grand for that based on what the 860 kits are

they are as reliable as the e-tecs from what I see...as for the hp..well seems to me they dont need 160+ hp stock to perform..they do just fine at 150-153 depending on whos dyno sheet you qoute.....if 160 hp is all thats needed to make a killer sled..why did you turbo yours? why change the track?...why mod the crap out of it if it was so awesome bone stock?

Weelllll, methinks that freddyw needs to have the extra ponies and mods on what HE says is already the best sled ...because.....either.... he is a exeptionally poor skills rider and can't keep up to his buddies on stock sleds...or....he is compensating for some inadequacy that he sees every day in his full length mirror and believes the add ons on the sled even things out.

I for one hope that every time i see a dyno report for a pro it is 10 or 15 horse less than the doo or cat. It just makes it that much better when my buddies just can't get there.
