pro did this 2 weeks in a row but only at a 1\4 tank of gas.

been in the shop every other weekend? you stated earlier that the sled rips and this is your only issue with it that wasn't even 10 days ago

Another reason to not believe everything you read on the internet....1000 great reviews, and 1 ah $_!t wipes the slate clean.

the pickup line is in the front of the tank, so when you are going up the hill the sled will run out of fuel at a 1/4 tank. mine did the same thing no big deal carry extra fuel.

the sled rips and is in the shop every other weekend. one thing that i keep running into is the the sled overheats and goes into limp mode. the shop has to clear it the key doesn't seem to clear it out of limp mode. so when the sled doesn't get to hot she rips, when it gets to hot it doesn't and off tothe shop it goes.

towed a buddy out one weekend at start of the ride and the sled got up to 180 degrees and was in limp mode. another weekend the ice cold rock hard trail had little lubrication and all the sleds overheated and went into limp mode. another weekend ice road in the morning and than dirt more ice dirt, hit 170 and the sled goes into limp mode. so if that doesn't happen the sled is awesome. now if i get to 160, shut her down and wait.
so yes the sled rips one weekend and the next it doesn't go over 7500rpms.
hope that explains it all.

jay

i started doing that this weekend. I just got the sled at the end of feb, so i didn't have all season learning the little ins and outs like others have.

Can't you throw some snow on the tunnel to avoid limp mode?

One thing I've done is pack snow on the rear running boards for the long/slow/bumpy/frozen trail rides. It stays on the boards better than it does on the tunnel. Unless you have no tunnel bag and can pack it under the seat. :P

Still, bone head move on Polaris...3-5? more pounds in cooling capacity would be WELL worth while, instead of having to deal with/worry about this cooling issue. I'd be OK w/ 435# vs 431# for peace of mind in the cooling dept.
