Pro clutching, anyone changed theirs?

IQRIDR
How much of a improvment do think the tied clutch is over the TSS-04?
I'm wanting to start reclutching but, waiting on getting the SLP pipe kit.
Thanks for sharing your clutching info.

We have tied set up that is much better than the TSS04... We have developed a custom helix for the Tied that allows it to all work perfectly.. Much higher track speed. lower belt temps, and SOLID rpms,,,

my tied setup from team felt overclutched, they said it ran well at island park during testing but i felt that i lost some of the snappy feel that the stock setup had. the helix was a 71-57-46 71-55-46 with a red pink titainium spring the front was stock with 10-58s any suggestions i liked the tied on my d 800 turbo.

Went to Togowatee with 3 pro's all ran just fine, then one put in a black purple in secondary and man that sled just ripped w 10/60's think it could pull 62's on semi setup snow

What change is this in numbers from stock?

Thanks

Two rides now on the Carl's PRO clutch kit. No aftermarket venting what so ever.
170 lbs rider plus gear so 190-200lbs approx (super heavy pack)
sled 426 plus 10 gallons fuel
Polaris stock engine/exhaust/gearing
155 5.1 customized track
Fox suspension
non eth plug installed

6250 ft alt 22* groomed trail engage 3800 top 8400 top speed on instrument 87 (62 gram epi weights, stock springs, carl's custom cut team secondary helix) No fade, no waver, and steady consistant pull to top end. Excellent pull from 6200 to full out. Excellent response from 6200 to idle to full bar. They said this sled will not pull 64's in our world but I'm thinking it absolutely will. My goal for this set up is no higher then 8200. A flat out riot to haul a$$ on the twisted trail. McCalls grooming this weekend was BUTTER. The trail from the brundage res over the hill to francis wallace was a total cross country race track and a hoot! You can tap the brake pre corner to set down your front inside ski and power your track into a slight slide, then hammer down out of the corners. Track cut just hooks up! Skis come off the ground, the sled PULLS OUT, and away you go. FLAT OUT FUN

7200 - 8000 ft alt 28*-30* misc free ride steep with semi setup 2ft on a light base. Up short (prob 20 second pull max) extremely steep climbs. 8300 - 8350. Sled is instant on. No need to even run at a climb. It's up to rpm and flying in just a couple seconds in these conditions. Once again no heat or fade buildups rpms keeping really consistant and feels that way as well. This would be a pretty common free ride environment for us. In and out of the trees in pretty steep misc play terrain. Pretty sure I can still get away with more weight on this clutching at this alt. (also note last week we had incredible deep snow that was wearing out any sled who had to break trail on any incline) Sled was fine on stock clutching (62 -10) but you can definately feel an improvement from the steeper multi angle carls helix and the epi weights. I think the mid range and top end feels much better. Not a legit test because we didn't have consistant comparison sleds so this is just a seat of the pants comment.

Anyway stock clutches have been respectable for me but I am confident now that there is a pretty significant increase in performance from the Carls kit for my sled. Gonna try some various weight combos this week.

Side note..Better Boards on this PRO are exceptional. The sleds stock boards are way better then the IQ but there is still massive advantages to this sled with BOARDS. Ride one with and then one without and you will be sold. It takes a fraction of the effort to keep your boards clear and have traction. Just ride it.

Anyway there is the report to date. Sled is so much fun!

Rob,

I had Carls send me their kit and the helix they sent to me with their kit for the Pro has the angles stamped into the helix. Not sure if they sent me the wrong helix or if they just re-cut this original helix to their specs.

Regardless 6000-8000 feet, 20*, waist deep slightly heavy snow, 60 second long steep climb - this sled cannot pull 10-64s. I swapped out the EPI 62's as I thought we would be able to throw more weight at it. Sled works great at first but as the climb gets steep and deep the backshift never comes.

With the steeper of the two side of the helix installed, the washers, and the 10-64's the RPM was pulled down to 7400 at the end of the long pull. Rubber marks in the primary and adios to a 115.

Threw the 10-62's back in and machine seems fine. RPMS are varying between 8050-8400 with either the 10-62's or the EPIs from Carls. Track speed in climbs the same between the two but a much more aggressive upshift with the EPIs.

Loving this sled and loving the Carls FOX suspension front and rear.

I'm very interested in "much higher track speed" along with the lower belt temps, etc.

What kind of track speed are we talking with your custom clutch set up and what was your stock track speed?

the black purple is the stock secondary spring

So, any more news here?

Want to purchase some clutch mods and dont want to try them all...

Sea level to maybe 5000ft, mostly up to 2500ft. Run poo 66 grams now and overrev bad on moguls and start of hills.

See someone talk about 11' series weights, any gains with these?

EPI, MTX, what does this sled like? I have supertips here and some straightline weights.

Did anyone have a chance to compare Carsls vs RKT?

Welcome any and all comments!!
