Pro clutching, anyone changed theirs?

Sleds have been on the snow for a couple of months now and was wondering if anyone has run anyone's clutch kit in their sled, and if so how did it run? I only have a hundred or so miles on mine at this point so really have not had much time to really put it to the test. From past experience a little clutching from a reputable source has never hurt.

Buddy has a Stuthers kit in and I have something a little different both run alot stronger hold rpms better right at 8200 with mine my buddy's still jumps around a little.

My clutching was done by Carl's in Boise also. Pulls really nice. Rode a friends sled without and mine pulled harder in the ethanol mode and his was non ethanol.

Just call Carl's. They will take care of you. Every sled I've bought thru them whether its stock or a mod, it just rips. What details I do know, Ive been sworn to secrecy. They also figured out how to keep your belt 10-20 degrees cooler.

I won't give up Carls helix but here is what I have and it runs good!

Carls helix
stock sec spring w/delrins
1 SLP helix shim
Team green primary spring
have to get back to you on the name of the weights, guy is out of Ellensberg WA, makes a great primary weight set!

Team Tied. 73/61. Red/blue secondary spring w/ delrins. MTX 68g weights, gr/pk SLP spring. This combo pulls 8200 all day long at 0-3000...and it rapes XP's :D :D

We are pulling 68 mtx's at 8-12 k 8150-8200 rpms...what gives.

Slp's blue/pink in the primary with 58 weights and a team black/white in the secondary with a delrin washer. It pulls 8200 pretty dam consistent from 9-11,000 ft.Thinking about adding 1 helix/spring shim. The backshifting with this set-up is badass.

For Cooke:
stock 140/330 with 11-60's
P2 with 60/40 .45 with a 140/200
runs about 8100 on the hill, could probably use a tad more driven spring as it really upshifts hard on letoff
I really like the downhill feel as it is more like second gear instead of granny gear in the team.
Some belt smell after about 4-5 minutes of hard gas in the deep stuff, could probably use shorter gearing. Don't need to open side panels after sidehilling over the left side of daisy like a new doo, though. :face-icon-small-hap
Flatland:
stock 140/330 with 11-68's, runs 82-8300 depending on ambient temp.
track rotation is much better when cold - 2-3 blaps and track spins without typical belt slip with 10 series weights.

I think you mean 58's. I'm running 60's and mine worked great in Cooke City. My buddy tried 62's, then 60's and finally 58's to get his to run in Cooke City. Both 155"s and I'm way bigger than he is.

Wyo.. Does run the 68's Shallow helix perhaps?

I am running rivets in them, not just blanks, and I am running a different secondary clutch than you.

I don't mind giving this info away, not charging for it or trying to be secretive, like some others

Chad I assume what you are running is a basic cross of what I ran?..I figured it would work even better on the pro due to the increased bottom/mid the pro has...I assume the tied helix is the off shoot of the cross? or did you end up having to go up or down to get it working?
How high have you tried running as far as rpms? just wondering if the pro will pull harder up higher?sounds like I may be riding with you sat or sunday(LL on sat and p-ville sunday, if things work out right)

It's pretty close to the cross of a 64/42, if not dead on.

I have tried running it around 8300 but when I do, I hit the rev limiter and bog when the load comes off the track, hitting bumps up hill and such...

This motor does not seem to like the same 8300-8400 like the 08-10's. I think it has to do with the port timing for the most part, same reason it makes the bottom and midrange over the 08-10 800's.

I'm going to Turnagain tomorrow, lost lake saturday probably, then not sure where Sunday. Maybe riding with the girlfriend.

Are you having to reshim the spyder for belt clearence?
The cat clutch has to be opened up to use the MTX'S. Will they just drop in the P85?

that makes sense on rpm's..good makes it easier to dial it...

Yes you have to reshim the P85 as well when adding MTX weights...they have a higher heel height than the stock polaris 10 series weights.

No, I mean 68 gram MTX weights and it works very well...holds steady r's at 8150 or so. Like B2 mentioned...check your spider for belt side clearance. Mine took 10 thousands and it put it right at 10-12 thousands clearance with the mtx weights. Buddies Assault didn't require any shims and it worked just fine.
