pro climb 800 skis

Those saddles look different than when I had the powder pros on my '12 proclimb. Can you use the stock Cat ski rubber with them now?

Personally I didn't like the Mohawks, way to aggressive for my liking. Found them very similar to what Byeatts has said about them. They are better than stock skis, but don't know if they are worth the price better. I'll have to try the pro ski.

That funny when you talk directly to SLP they say the powder pros are more aggressive than the mohawks.....I don't really care since I travel on very little trail, ice or spring hard snow.

Grippers

Just bought a new set of grippers on Ebay with woody carbides for 305$ just have to track the bolts down now maybe right from polaris.

Awesome, You will be very happy!

Something very noticeable is on those deep days when on the flipper bouncing through the terrain the sleds nose stay up, doesn't dive keeping the momentum and sled speed up much faster. The wider shovel and bolt located aft creates this.

Yeah, I weighed them. I can't remember for certain but the grippers were like 7oz/ski lighter than a proclimb ski. Almost a pound total, I ended up 1lb 5oz lighter than stock with carl modded grippers.

Carl mooded grippers?
what are you refearing to ?

thanks for the help and direction guys ...much appreciated !
just ordered my Polaris gripper skis(black with orange loops)....cheers

some are cutting the tail section, dont do it , These flat rock as is and already carve like butter, cutting was done on PP,s to try to help them carve better

Could very well be... to be honest i'm not a good enough rider to tell or know the difference between modded or not. I did it cause I could plus you lose even more weight, as minimal as it is, lol.

Here's a thread talking about it.

Here is another option. Sold a few pairs to guys who wanted them, but have not used myself. The C&A pro mountain ski. Seems like a nice ski. I don't like that it is very stiff and weighs 8lbs 6 oz, stock ski is 5lbs 16 oz. Anyone have any personal experience with them?

Yes they handle similar to Grippers with narrower shovel, however you nailed it, Heavy and stiffer type ski, beefy construction. Probably a good choice for drops and abuse. Grippers are very flexy. These were on a 14 XM last season, Its not a bad ski at all

I have a set of c&a bx skis off my 14 proclimb ill sell for $300 only 75 miles on them. I prefer the stock skis.

They are night a day difference. I have both. Mohawks are really grabby in anything except powder, Allot of arm pressure compared to Grippers, Look and how far back the Poo bolt is, That allows more ski in front which takes away are pressure and steer like a feather. Mohawks have different bottom shape and are stiffer as well.

Typically SLP saddle brackets offer 2 different mounting postions to the ski.

wow, after reading this thread I'm even more pumped that I got a set of Grippers for my proclimb. Found a lightly used pair for $140! Started trimming the two ribs in the spindle mount area yesterday. Can't wait to try them out this winter.

Most of my experience has been with the Powder Pros, Grippers, and Slydog Powderhounds. Mostly Polaris and Doo. We mounted a set of Mohawks on an Assault last season and really liked them. I have a Pair of 8" Slydog Powderhounds on my 08 RMK and love them but Love my grippers on my Pro as well. If your on a 4-stroke I highly recommend the Powderhounds. Like power steering and super light skis. They are stiffer now as well.
